Below the belt

Here’s to the hope tha Ben Net won’t squander the opportunity for negotiations in good faith.
Enough blood has been spilt.

Here’s a conundrum.
With a fancy new anti-missile system on the way and US troops stepping into harm’s way,
Explosive drones seem to slip through the net undetected.
It’s a safe bet the average citizen doesn’t have the luxury of an XP environment.
What’s a mother to do?
The abrupt demise of Yahya illustrates another dilemma. His brother is expected to fill the void.
It’s like the search for an effective antibiotic. 99% effectiveness leaves 1% with mutated immunity.
Eventually scientists grapple with flesh-eating bacteria.

Here’s a magnificent quote for you, Ms Tzang, paraphrased:
If you choose to live by the sword,
you will likely die by it as well.

OK it was on Fox and Friends with Will Cain et al, so obviously it cannot be true for most here, but it is alleged that there are leaks in Washington to parties in the Middle East concerning Israel’s retaliatory actions on Iran.

It is certainly a rumour that may become the truth. However it may possibly be that the Israeli government have played a dummy hand and their real intentions are known only to those in Jerusalem.

This one will run and run until ‘D Day’!

Interesting that the one drone that got through hit Netanyahu’s home / compound…

Now Netanyahu is claiming an assassination attempt by Iran…

😑

Also:

Let’s be honest, this whole thing is headed for a violent ultimate resolution where the Arabs / Muslims in the region will suffer incalculable losses, because Israel can’t / won’t go on being boiled like a frog / dying a death by a thousand cuts.

And, yes, the U.S. will back Israel to the end. Caving to Iran’s “boil the frog / death by a thousand cuts strategy to destroy Israel is NOT an option.

Russia and Iran would love for Israel to continue with limited war against Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, the Houthis, etc, because it slowly depletes Israel (and the U.S.) militarily and economically. (Russia also benefits by the U.S. splitting its attention and resources between Ukraine and Israel.)

Israel (and the U.S.) recognizes that ^ and has apparently decided to make their stand now, rather than suffer a slow death.

Prepare for things to get a whole lot worse in the region before they get better - barring regime changes in Russia, Iran, and Syria, and new leadership of militant groups in Gaza, Lebanon, and Yemen, etc .(Egypt requires reforms in government as well).

Once the threat to Israel has truly passed (been eliminated?), then Netanyahu, etc, can be held to account.

👍

account for what?

There is no moral high ground here.
Just a relentless carousel of bloody murder
"Just a restless carousel..."—an empty slogan for the ignorant or gaslighting by a sociopath.

There’s no such thing as Palestinians—there never have been (the letter "P" doesn’t even exist in Arabic). During 1,300 years of Muslim rule, this area was simply the southern province of A-Sham (modern-day Syria). I recommend reading Mark Twain’s 1867 account of his travels to the Holy Land, where he was struck by how empty and desolate it was.

Arabs followed Zionists into the land, drawn by the job opportunities they created. In 1948, they launched their first attempt at genocide against the Jews and failed (following decades of terror attacks). Between 1948 and 1967, they made no attempt to establish a Palestinian state in the territories they now claim are occupied. Instead, they accepted Jordanian and Egyptian citizenship while continuing to target Israel, intent on its destruction.

They never wanted a state—only to ensure the Jews wouldn’t have one, just like their supporters today. If those supporters aren’t merely useful idiots, they know full well this is a religious war—a clash of civilizations—and once the jihadists are done with the Jews, they’ll turn on the rest of the infidels.

France, Spain, Belgium, and Sweden are already doomed, conquered by a creeping, silent jihad (just like the Hussein Obama supporters are attempting in America).

If Israel falls, the entire West falls

In biblical times they were called Philistines.

Cod-history is not History and the 'West' does not depend on the existence of Israel.

Oh, the depths of ignorance! The Philistines were annihilated by the Assyrians in 722 BC. The name "Palestina" was later imposed on Judea by the Roman emperor Hadrian in 135 AD to undermine Jewish identity after the suppression of the Bar Kokhba revolt.

I may be a bit of a sociopath at the moment, but it’s something I’m working to overcome.
Thanks for noticing.
If your claim has any root in truth, then my counterclaim is that you may be dyslexic.
I guess relentless and restless are close enough in your book.

I’ll return the favor with your invitation to read Samuel Clemens by recommending you read the earlier books of the Old Testament if you like, especially the Book of Joshua regarding who slew who first.

The area referred to as Palestine is currently being pounded by the IDF.
The Bible specifically mentions Gaza as being a battleground.
Your statement that Israel is blameless in the protracted conflict is historically inaccurate.
Joshua and his crew, the Tribes of Israel smote men, women and children in their quest for a homeland.
The Bible quite clearly documents the destruction.

It is not I who is either ignorant or trying to gaslight anyone.
The carousel continues to turn, the ponies painted blood red.

I suspect your crystal ball is cloudy as often as not.

Right and wrong are subjective. Who wins is objective. Right now, Israel is winning. The War in Vietnam was a foolish war for the United States to get involved in. It was an expensive, losing war against a tough, resourceful enemy in which the rewards of victory and the penalties of success were imperceptible. The United States benefited by admitting defeat and withdrawing. Even then, Ho Chi Minh probably could have united Vietnan under his leadership without a war.

If Israel can annihilate Hamas and Hezbollah, while forcing the deportation of the Palestinians at minimum expense to itself, Israel will benefit enormously. The Israelis and the Palestinians hate each other, so it is unrealistic to hope for a two state solution.

Curiously no response to Biblical reference.
Haul your megalomania over to the thread ‘Why I won’t vote for Kamala Harris’ and get acquainted with BigtitsBitch 1000x. You two would make a match made somewhere other than Heaven.

My interest in this particular thread is to observe the dynamics of dehumanization and justification for the systematic unraveling of a society.

In my travels I have encountered those who matter and those who chatter.
Little doubt which category in which you fall.

The depths of ignorance.

The people who lived where Gaza is now, were called Philistines. Goliath and all that happened at Gaza. Whatever genocide the Assyrians carried out did not remove every Philistine any more than the German genocide on the Jews in the 1940s or the Israeli genocide on the Palestinians will in the 2020s.

Every massacre has survivors to tell the tale.

Conversation with the intellectually challenged does not benefit my well-being, so consider this lesson the last:

Between 722 and 714 BC, Sargon II conducted several campaigns in the Levant, during which all the inhabitants of the Philistine cities (along with the ten lost tribes of Israel) were exiled or sold into slavery. Since then, nothing has been heard of them.

After hundreds of years, the Arabs did to the Holy Land what they ultimately did to every place they conquered: they brought violence, destruction, ignorance, and desolation.

When the Jews began returning to their promised land in 1882, only several tens of thousands of residents remained, concentrated in a few ancient cities—20% of whom were Jews. As Mark Twain observed in 1867, the land was virtually deserted.

Sixty-five years later, however, there were around 1.3 million Arabs in the tiny land of Israel. A miracle of childbirth? No—the miracle of Zionism!
Suits me fine.
I have a rule not to argue with the mentally challenged.
It’s just unfair.

In the spirit of the upcoming holidays, feel free to follow your namesake’s lead and give the interior of your gas oven a thorough cleaning.
In case you plan to do any baking later.
Your turkey may never get basted otherwise. Even if it IS a Butterball

Humans are animals.

Like other species, they have a self-destruct mechanism built into their DNA that tends to get activated when too many of them are crammed into the same territory.

This particular animal species has weapons that have impacts way beyond the immediate boundaries of the territory in conflict. The stakes are high for all animals on the planet, not just human animals.

All of the "holy" books are nothing more than a record of past conflicts and various prophesies emerging from those conflicts. The big problem is all prophesies by human animals tend to be self-fulfilling. Human animals are so confused by their consciousness that they are not willing to ditch the guidebooks written by their primitive ancestors and work out peaceful solutions.

There is a choice for peace underlying this entrenched conflict, but that choice would require a critical mass of imagination.
