Before I die, I want to......

I'd like to figure out my own system of ethics without resorting to religion. I prefer to grow my own (for lack of a better term) rather than simply adopt one.

I'd like to study more philosophy-especially scientific method and other philosophy of science.

I'd like to write a book--a nice novel or screenplay.

I'd like to raise or at least influence a child.

I'd like to climb some more.

I'd like to see the Hermitage and the Louvre.

You are a poet. What a pretty picture you paint.

one very, very easy to paint after seeing even the smallest smidgeon of the untamed wild up here.

everybody should come and visit here and see even just a tiny bit once durring their life. come to anchorage and drive down to Seward or take a ride on a train that heads out thru the wild. the drive down to Seward has officially been named the World's Second Most Beautiful Drive, only surpassed by a drive somewhere in Japan. and if it beats the drive to Seward, then i must see it, and so should you! come up and go see Thunderbird Falls. take a flight around Denali (Mt. McKinley). hike up Flattop Mountain and view the whole of Anchorage from a few thousand feet up.

goddamnit, this state is so fucking beautiful i'd rather be poor and surrounded by all of this than rich and stuck in a choking, smog-ridden metropolis.

My friend just came back from St.Petersburg and has regaled me with stories of the Hermitage. Being an artist, I too, would love to see both those museums.

My gosh, you all are making my list longer and longer.... ~smiling~ thank you.

scylis

I have friends in Anchorage. They want me to come up and golf in the summer, during the longest day..... the summer solistice (is that correct?)

From what I have seen and been told by others, Alaska is an amazing and breath-taking place. You are lucky to be surrounded by so much beauty.

that's correct. two of my housemates are getting married then. most all of their relatives are down in the lower 48. it'll be one hell of a change, since the sun barely even dips below the horizon.

The endless day.....

That's what they tell me-- I can golf all night..... LOL Not that I have the stamina for it. ~smiling~

Sounds like a fun time for you all.

I want to be a hero.

I mean I already am, but just in the military circle.

I want to be a hero worldwide.

I want to save some little kid from a crocodiles mouth or something

I want to find out what it feels like to be really, really old.

*LOL*

Remind's me of Terry Pratchet's Cohen the Barbarian achieving immortality not through great deeds or works, but by not dying.

:D thanks, I'm grinning now...

Do you have things you want to accomplish in your life?
There are places and people I'd like to see and experience.
Things I'd love to learn and perhaps teach others.
I wish to become a better person and make others happy they know me.
I wish to raise a family and grow old with the man I love.
And I hope I'll be able to look back on my life with a feeling of contentment, more than regret.
If I can do that, then I've lived a full life :)

two things i would like to do before dying, i would love to live inside the head of a genius. and the second, meet micoangelo. yes, i know both are impossible, but hey, it's still is a wish.

I want to go on sabbatical in Hawaii...oh yeah, I'm doing that now!

Finish my novel.
Travel to Australia, Japan, back to Europe.
Build my dream home in Southern California.
Find someone to truly love...

Its a tough list...

Most importantly would be to make sure my children have all the choices they want, unfettered by money problems and social issues. I would like to sky dive, see the 24 states i havnt been in, of course get to outer space or even better walk on the moon. I want to know that when I die I have made my wife as happy as any man could. I would like to go on a vaction, its been 7 years since that happened :) Well a threesome would be pretty cool too. Lastly i would like to see one day on this planet wher no-one hurt anyone else, I think that if it could happen for just one day it would clear many minds to let it happen again.

Some of those are attainable things.... you deserve a vacation, I am sure. I am taking the next 3 weeks off myself and can't be happier for it.

I mentioned a ride in a hot air balloon a while back on this thread. The truth is, I would like to make love in one while we are up floating above it all.

Before I die, I want to have sexual contact with another woman. But, with my low self-esteem, &, low self-whatever, I don't see that ever happening. I can't even approach a woman for a date without sounding like a dork.

Get at least my Masters degree in Philosophy

Run with the Bulls in Pamplona

Hmmm. Several things come to mind here.

1 Skydive, a lot.

2 If I survive the skydiving, ride a Harley from Alaska to Florida, and all states in between. also through Canada.

3 If I survive these two, then I guess the third would be to reflect on my life and those two adventures in a isolated mountain or desert location. Find out what has been or is important in my life at that point.

I know this all sounds a touch boring to most of you, but it is how I feel...at the moment.:)

A touch boring to whom? I think skydiving and motorcycles are quite exciting. I am not brave enough for the skydiving thing, but boy would I love to own a motorcyle. And I would love to travel on one.

Run away to a tropical island and write suspense novels. With an endless supply of 31 year old females of course.
