A thread lays forlorn
Needing so to be tendered*
Lest it soon withers
Oh, let us pull weeds
and call the sweet honeybees
back to the garden!
Cut back ground elder
Reveal the bright bedding plants
Oh fertility!
upon thinking of
wintery indiscretions
earth blushes bright greens
Verdant and fertile
The land repaired, as is love
After a winter.
yesterdays decay
is loves nutrients to feed
seeds for new daydreams
Cycles rule our lives
Sometimes, for the lucky few,
Circles intersect.
infinity is
broken in two and worn as
gilded promises
Fingers announce needs
Lemniscates traced on bare skin
To signal desires
Parched digits wander
searching for the cork that had
left them all thirsty.
Easing out the cork
The sweet d'Yquem is tasted
Filling her dry mouth
Tender green grapes plucked,
smashed, and barrelled in patience
weeps the sweetest wine.
Release is waiting
In the coming surrender
He gives as he takes
Beads of juice appear
As if from thin air they come
Announcing ripeness.
tiny green balloons
gather in sunny daydreams
of rescuing vines.
Harvest is hot work,
plucking the fruit together.
Afterwards we play.
In brief interludes
joy will hydrate us, then we
return to our work.
