Some dominant types dont like brat because they perceive them as out of control and bad....some love them because it keeps their dominant skills honed lol.
Not sure it is a type of submissive as much as it is a personality type

As KC said, it's probably more or a personality type than a type of submissive. It's an acceptable personality "quirk" for many PYLs, because it *does* "keep their dominant skills honed," but people of the Gorean type and strict Masters/Mistresses often find it difficult to deal with, for some reason

Personally, as primarily a Sadist, I find a bit of brattiness refreshing on occasion. It assures me that I'm not taking over her personality (or that she's not *surrendering* her personality), and occasionally provides opportunities for punishments (usually not of the corporal variety, since that's PLAYtime for me (and should be for my partnered masochist), and keeps me on my toes to think of disciplinary actions that will be mentally/emotionally painful for her while providing me with more input to her personality, motivations and motivators (e.g., journaling what about a particular behavior was unacceptable, *why* that behavior occurred, and how she will avoid it in the future).

I'm no expert in the language of BDSM, but when I think "brat", I think "bratting" as in when I act up just to get Sir's attention, or a punishment. He doesn't tolerate bratting and will give me a real punishment, which I truly dread, for doing it. He knows me well enough that I get lots of erotic spankings, which I love, so I generally don't need to brat. Our relationship is such that if I need a spanking/caning/flogging, I can just tell him and he will make it happen, albeit, on his schedule. He does like me to grovel when I tell him that his slut is a bad girl and she needs a spanking because she is a filthy, worthless pain slut .
