Thanks for all the feedback on my comments! Everyone has made an important point, and that's what I love about discussions in here!
I have some things to add......
Self-confidence is a tricky thing...some days I have it and some days I don't. The easiest way for me to find some is to buy something-isn't that silly? An outfit that I feel comfortable in, or a salon haircut, or some new makeup, and especially some lingerie: They always make me feel better about myself. I think I may be addicted to shopping, and since me & hubby have been very down and out since I had Miss Emily, I haven't been able to buy anything extra. Seems to me that when I can't shop, I eat. (I just had this realization, like 5 minutes ago!) Which really doesn't save any money, it's just spent on things we"have" to have. Well, we may need food in the house, but I don't need to scarf as much as I do.
I'm not saying I want to be skinny-I think that looks sickly. I just want to feel comfortable in my own skin, and I know exactly what weight and size I feel good about myself, because I was there within a week of having my daughter. Can you imagine, I only gained 8 lbs, and I lost 18 in 8 days? Then I was home and broke, and what did I do, but ate. I think that bothers me more than my size-my lack of control over my size. I think that's what makes a lot of people pre-judge BBW-they see it like we are people who won't take control over our bodies-like junkies, or something. What they fail to realize is that some people have medical reasons for being overweight-thyroid, some medications, hell, even The Pill makes you put on weight. (PAUSE TO SUBMIT B4 SIGNED OFF!)lol

Some people have emotional reasons for being overweight-"protection" from a repeat violation, hurt, or abuse; compensation(like me for shopping), etc. No woman wants to be overweight...but some are, and some are comfortable with who they are, and I sure wish I was, but I don't think I will be until i love the 25 pounds I've gained, and my pants fit loose like they did after Emmy, and I can look in the mirror again and say, "girl, you are one sexy mama" at which point, I'l have to change my name on Lit to sexymamaangel!LOL

Hey all.

The first thing I notice about a woman is her face. I have seen some drop-dead beautiful women that were over-weight, chunky, chubby, BBW, what ever label you want to apply. I mean, we're talkin' go-home-lie-in-bed-and-dream-about BEAUTIFUL!

I don't have any fetish for a particular kind of woman, I just know what I like when I see her.

No matter your body shape or size or facial looks for that matter, if you care about yourself and care about looking good for you, not for others...it shows...and it is extremely sexy in my opinion.

So, I guess I'm against this labeling, using terms like BBW.

I would hate for someone to throw me into a category like

AWMWAASD

(Average White Male With An Average Sized Dick)

It is a way for us to feel good about who we are, and for us to identify with other women who are like us, and the men who love us. It is a way for us to help boost our confidence so we can capture that elusive thing called self-esteem. So, while I understand your objection to labeling, it really is to our own benefit in this case. (Kinda like a very smart kid is going to be called a smarty-pants by those who don't appreciate his intelligence, but those who do appreciate him, will call him a genius. Which do you think he prefers? Even if he doesn't call himself anything, and refuses to be labeled, other people will, and it won't be in such a good way.)

I see sweet. What you say makes total sense. I never looked at it in that light. I guess I'm just idealistic at times and would rather see nada labels.
