I was going to say decline but I don't think that's really the case. It's not that there are less authors or less stories - it's more that is an unfunded, unpaid endeavor. Who is going to pay for a book of short stories when they have a plethora of short stories they can read on line for free. Sure, if it's well known authors and whatnot but someone starting out won't get far in the general population.

I've been told by several teachers - those that taught my son and know I loove writing short stories - to send my created tales to "exposure" sites: professionally run websites that give unknown writers a place to show their potentional.

The form is having a slow comeback, albeit on the interwebs and ebook readers. Barnes and Noble Nook has many short stories, for free or 1.99 or less, most .99. ALL genres are covered including erotica.

I have a friend, who we recently had a very long, very intimate conversation. She's a BBW and I absolutely love her and think she is a beautiful woman. However she doesn't feel the same. It's a shame more guys don't feel the same way. I hate to be a downer but I need to vent somewhere. Just been down lately. Been talking to a few guys. Conversation gets good and fun, then they stop talking and that's it. It makes me feel like a whore or something, and used. I think they realize what i finally mean when i say i'm not small, I have big hips, tits and ass. Makes me feel really great about myself. NOT. Like anything else--age, race, ethnicity, hair color, hair style, etc,--body shape is a physical feature that often results in preferences. Some guys prefer extremely thin women. Oh sweetie, it's a shame you don't live near us. My husband and I regularly attend clubs and parties where the bigger ladies get all the attention. There ARE men out there who love bigger women, it's just a case of finding them :(
