'Original Cure for Headaches Dominant Styling'

This Thread is inspired by a conversation taking place in the Talk Section of Lit where several people discussed the potential D/s aspects of Morticia and Gomez. As its that time of Year I propose we continue the dialogue and extend the Thread potential with anything that displeases you Halloween style.

Scenes of Horror...................

John Doe strode into the bedroom wearing His leather postal
worker's uniform. He sneered at the bound and gagged
figure on the bed as he reached into his latex mailbag. Jane
Doe, a 29 year old schoolgirl, looked up at her Master, her
eyes a mixture of fear and desire. She gasped as he brought
a knife with a nine inch blade out of the bag. "I saw
something on the Internet which I want us to try, "
He said sternly, "Are you willing?" Jane nodded
eagerly and mumbled, "yeff Mather."

John smiled as he bent close and cut her free of her bonds.
"Strip, " he ordered as he began to remove his
own clothes. Jane quickly complied, wondering what new
delights her beloved Master had in store for her. "Lay
back on the bed, " He commanded. Jane did so. John
then laid on top of her. "Tonight my dear, "
He whispered while reaching for the light switch, "We
are going Non-Kink!" "No!" cried Jane
as the room plunged into darkness.

The above tale is true. John eventually left Jane to move
in with another woman. They now have a 24/7 Non-Kink lifestyle,
regularly enjoying home improvements, Tupperware parties
and sex three times a year.

Jane was more fortunate and now attends Non-Kink Anonymous
where with help and guidance she is slowly recovering.
Only last week she was able to stand up and say, "I have
the right to more than one sexual position!"

Non Kink is dangerous and should not be practiced at home.
If anyone offers you Non-Kink sex, just say No. This has been
a BDSM safety awareness announcement.

Remember this sweety pie..........

I can think of a link but it might just be shadows , the film crew making the car advertisement can't resolve the technical issues on this one and think they actually managed to capture a 'Ghost' but you have to watch really carefully :) :rose:

The Haunted Palace

In the greenest of our valleys
By good angels tenanted,
Once a fair and stately palace-
Radiant palace- reared its head.
In the monarch Thought's dominion-
It stood there!
Never seraph spread a pinion
Over fabric half so fair!

Banners yellow, glorious, golden,
On its roof did float and flow,
(This- all this- was in the olden
Time long ago,)
And every gentle air that dallied,
In that sweet day,
Along the ramparts plumed and pallid,
A winged odor went away.

Wanderers in that happy valley,
Through two luminous windows, saw
Spirits moving musically,
To a lute's well-tuned law,
Round about a throne where, sitting
(Porphyrogene!)
In state his glory well-befitting,
The ruler of the realm was seen.

And all with pearl and ruby glowing
Was the fair palace door,
Through which came flowing, flowing, flowing,
And sparkling evermore,
A troop of Echoes, whose sweet duty
Was but to sing,
In voices of surpassing beauty,
The wit and wisdom of their king.

But evil things, in robes of sorrow,
Assailed the monarch's high estate.
(Ah, let us mourn!- for never morrow
Shall dawn upon him desolate!)
And round about his home the glory
That blushed and bloomed,
Is but a dim-remembered story
Of the old time entombed.

And travellers, now, within that valley,
Through the red-litten windows see
Vast forms, that move fantastically
To a discordant melody,
While, like a ghastly rapid river,
Through the pale door
A hideous throng rush out forever
And laugh- but smile no more.

Now I am afraid for you, very afraid, LOL. Isn't this a poem about an inescapable descent into utter maddness (rather than a light halloween treat)? One question - to what/who do you think Poe was referring with the term Porphyrogene? Thank you for getting me ready for sleep.

You are learning well, snowy. You are still a little young and your sweetness in still showing, but we will all help take care of that, right gang?

Aaawwww! Your love and concern for my education makes me so tingly and good in places.

Shank, re: the hubba, hubba:
gee, can't figure out if I want to be or be with her but think I'll go with the second - switching in the middle of a session with her? now that really sounds like fun

thanks, rebecca, not only for the illustration but the thread

and Shank, I like to keep things interesting, that's why I'm "versatile"

Now, for the search (in between short bouts of working, of course) :cathappy:

I thought he meant royal madness. See, it's about this royal family, ("porphyro" being Greek for purple, the traditional color of royalty, and "gene" meaning "descended from"). So the house has fallen, and it's all haunted by the royal ghosts, who are all mad. Because royalty tended to intermarry a lot, and there was a lot of madness and such the Royal houses of Europe.

In abstract, the poem becomes about how this family has come to nothing, and when you trace the fall of the family back to it's roots, it's hubris. They're special, cause they're royal and so they have special needs in the marriage market, to strengthen the bloodline, and it ultimately destroys them, leaving them as shades. It's kind of a morality poem, in that way.

Thank you, snowy, for the explanation of the term and for your reading of the poem. I never studied it in high school or college and have always been curious about the term. Reading it on multiple levels and as part allegory, can't it also be read as being about Poe's or any ordinary person's descent into madness due to family ties, inheritances, etc.? :rose: Neon
