im guess im starting this cus im interested in knowing what you think..

so what kinda things do you consider when tipping your starving server? wether your at a bar, or a restaurant.. are you one of those that needs everything fast, and prompt refills of your diet soda? do you notice when its busy, and things take a little longer? if it does, does your tip go down as a result even though its out of your servers hands? if things take longer but your little servers running his or hers ass off, do you take that into account? what if you get your glass of wine and theres a little floatie of cork in it? do you send it back and not tip? if you keep sending your server on many repetetive errands <by this i mean asking for a side of ranch when your food arrives, then once they get back w/ that asking for a refill, and then when they get back from that telling them that your coffee needs refilling, and your fries are cold> do you compensate them, or is this, in your mind all part of the job for them? where do you start, 10%? 15%? 20% :gasp:

tell tell tell..

I very understand if the restaurant is busy. I ask for a refill if I need something else I ask at the same time. I see no need to be rude, or anything. I normally tip my waitperson about 20% to 30% depending on the restaurant I am at.

The biggest tippers are people who have waited table at some time and had a taste of miserlyn custmers.

What should I be tipping then? I am sorry you have to deal with a lot of rude people.

20 percent is considered the norm.. 10 is what you should tip anyway, if things were bad. but alot of people think 10s the norm.. its interesting.

Ok, so I am tipping ok then.

I tip if I like my server...and the tip depends on where I'm at and what kind of service I get...and I do consider if it's busy and the tip doesn't go down if it is...like I said if I like them they get a big tip...friendly and smiling and letting me know if things are going to take longer then that makes a good server...I run into alot of rude nasty servers though...those ppl piss me off and I don't tip them...it's not my problem if they've had a bad day or whatever else might be going on...if they are gonna be bitchy or rude or nasty then fuck em...they can starve for all I care...I don't go someplace to be treated like that...those ppl can find another job
