Yes, finally, an Obama biographer admits what the right side of the blogosphere has known for the last four years, that there was no Obama family, that the president's mother and presumed father never lived together, and that mother and baby "were long gone from Honolulu" within a month of the baby's birth.

Unfortunately, no one bothered to check the record while Obama was basing his persona and his candidacy on the myth of this multicultural romance. This includes Maraniss himself. In a botched 10,000-word Washington Post article published on the eve of the 2008 election, he chose to overlook the fact that Obama created a false narrative for the first two years of his life and then ran for president on that narrative.

He was not alone. Everyone in the respectable media, left and right, did the same. This includes the New Yorker's David Remnick in his 2010 Obama bio, the New York Times's Janny Scott in her 2011 bio of Obama's mother, the Boston Globe's Sally Jacobs in her 2011 bio of Obama's father, and the Times's Jodi Kantor in her 2012 book on the whole extended family.

Worse, conservative writer Dinesh D'Souza based his disingenuous 2010 bestseller, The Roots of Obama's Rage, on a story that had been debunked in the conservative blogosphere as early 2008 and was widely known to be false by 2009.

As is becoming increasingly clear, the rise of Barack Obama represents a journalistic scandal of historic proportion.

I KNOW! Let's Doctor a WAWA TAPE!!!

My White Girlfriend Inspired Obama's Big, Dark Regina in Dreams from My Father
By John Drew
(See also: Meeting Young Obama, by John Drew)
July 17, 2012

As far as I know, I am the only person in the world willing to verify that young Barack Obama was an ardent Marxist-Leninist. My face-to-face report on how I confronted young Obama's ideological extremism is now featured in Paul Kengor's new book, The Communist - Frank Marshall Davis: The Untold Story of Barack Obama's Mentor.

Bloggers who have sought to discredit my story have asserted that I never met young Obama, that I was not part of young Obama's inner circle of friends, and that I was in no position to verify his most private ideological views. I am expecting these fragile defenses of young Obama's credentials as a pragmatic centrist will fall apart now that David Maraniss's Barack Obama: The Story reveals that the Occidental College girlfriend who introduced me to young Obama was one of the inspirations for the composite character "Regina" in Obama's Dreams from My Father. True, Regina appears in Dreams as "a big, dark woman," but why deny Obama a little poetic license?

According to Maraniss, a Washington Post editor and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, Obama created Regina out of the European adventures of a young black female student at Occidental named Sarah Etta-Harris, the Chicago family stories of Michelle Robinson -- the president's future wife -- and anti-apartheid activism of my then-22-year-old white girlfriend, Caroline Boss (now Caroline Grauman-Boss). This somewhat disconcerting news came to my attention last month along with the even more telling news that the name "Regina" was the name of Boss's real-life grandmother, a Swiss woman who worked as a maid. In Dreams, you may recall, Regina is such a central figure in young Obama's life that, along with Obama's Communist mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, she is remembered as one of the key reasons why young Obama chose to become a community organizer.

When I first read Dreams in 2008, I remember thinking the character of Regina reminded me of Boss, a girl I dated and lived with -- off and on -- for slightly over two years between the spring of 1979 and the spring of 1981. Much of the information I have shared about my relationship with Boss has recently been published in Paul Kengor's The Communist. There, Kengor reports on my romance with Boss, along with details of a heated debate over the 1980 Christmas break, where I confronted the impracticality of her and Obama's anticipation of an inevitable Communist revolution.

Obama introduces composite Regina by writing: "I had seen her around before, usually sitting in the library with book in hand, a big, dark woman who wore stockings and dresses that looked homemade, along with tinted, oversized glasses and a scarf always covering her head" (Dreams, pp. 103-104). In contrast to this description, I can report that the real Regina was a fun, scintillating, hyper-extraverted figure on the Occidental College campus. In contrast to the seriousness of Michelle Obama, I would say the young Caroline Boss was more like that character played by Lisa Kudrow on Friends -- the fiercely independent, quirky, nurturing Phoebe Buffay.

Like Phoebe, Boss had long blond hair, which she wore pinned back in a bun or twisted up in a ponytail. Her posture was terrible. When she stood up at her full 5'8" height, however, she was somewhat taller than me -- especially in her clogs. By the time Boss introduced me to young Obama -- whom she had known for almost one year -- she was a thin, almost anorexic girl. I remember she dressed like a hippie from the 1960s, complete with a woven ankle bracelet, blouses that reflected her Swiss heritage, and big colorful Indian print skirts. Boss did wear big sunglasses. She was also fond of wearing scarves round her neck. I cannot remember her ever wearing a scarf over her head. What I recall best about her clothing was that she had a habit of wearing shirts tucked inside bulky light blue overalls. I clearly remember that the real Regina also had a sensible, if somewhat guilty, appreciation for the superior fit of designer jeans from Gloria Vanderbilt.

In contrast to the composite Regina, Boss was a Marxist and a socialist looking forward to a Communist revolution in the United States. She believed that this revolution would be the inevitable result of larger social forces working through the dialectic logic of Marx's scientific socialism. In the end, however, I do not remember Boss so much as a campus Stalinist leader as I remember her as an uninhibited girl with a permanent, mischievous smile who pushed the boundaries of social norms. I remember that Boss appeared in her own Occidental magazine, Tattooed Lady, as a tasteful nude in a manner that still reminds me of Gwyneth Paltrow in the film Great Expectations. Consistent with my circle of radical friends at Occidental, Boss enjoyed mixing Marxist feminist politics with art, literature, film, and photography. Accordingly, I am not surprised that Maraniss indicates that Boss was the model scout who introduced young Obama to Lisa Jack, the student photographer who captured him posing, Choom Gang-style, with a cigarette on his lips and a straw hat on his head.

I remember that my Marxist girlfriend was bookish, but she struggled in school. As I recall, she often failed to turn in papers on time and piled up a string of incompletes that would stretch out her academic career. She would take about five years to finish the normal four-year course at Occidental. She ended up being something of a perpetual student. Although I lost track of her whereabouts in 1982, I learned later that she earned an M.S. in political philosophy from the London School of Economics and another M.Phil. in politics from Columbia University. Given her educational experiences, it is not hard for me to imagine that Boss's intense interest in politics might have made for good reading in a more truthful version of Dreams. When I was interviewed by historian David Garrow in December 2011, for example, I quickly discovered that this Pulitzer Prize-winning author was nonchalant about my memories, but positively gleeful about a tattered green address book that contained Boss's old contact numbers.

Although I was thrown off by Obama's statement that Regina was "a big, dark woman," I had noticed highly significant traces of Boss in the character Regina. For example, she and I had both enjoyed -- practically lived in -- Occidental's on-campus coffee shop, The Cooler. As I recall, The Cooler was the center of our lives because you could eat there when you could not get a meal in the student union, and because we could smoke our Marlboro Light cigarettes as we read our books and sipped our coffee.

Similar to the character Regina, Boss expressed an exceptional interest in my graduate school papers, my reading assignments, and my future ambitions. Her confidence in my future as a great scholar and as a revolutionary political leader was a striking contrast to my own family's lack of support. In retrospect, Boss's interest in my academic studies was particularly noteworthy since subsequent girlfriends displayed only the most cautious, bemused indifference to my research. (In spite of them, I ended up teaching at Williams College and winning the William Anderson Award from the American Political Science Association by the late 1980s.) Boss, as I recall, was the only person in my life to applaud my sense of mystic destiny. In one of the many cards and letters, she wrote: "Go for greatness!"

Similar to the Boss I remember, the character Regina is highly curious about Obama's reading and academic work. Regina speaks in such an overwhelmingly encouraging and uplifting fashion that she seemingly transforms the young Obama. Referring to his heart-to-heart with Regina, Obama later writes: "Strange how a single conversation can change you" (Dreams, p. 105). I can report that those vignettes featuring Regina are an accurate echo of the curious, enthusiastic, and intellectually vibrant Caroline Boss I knew between 1979 and 1981.

Obama's Regina, however, struck me as distant from Boss's real life story when Regina begins to share that she grew up in Chicago, with an absent father and struggling mother. This is because Boss had been adopted and had grown up as the only child of a wealthy Swiss-American family. (Tragically, a younger brother had died in early childhood.) In contrast to Regina's poverty, the real-life Boss family lived in a spacious home with a pool in the Portola Valley, close to both San Francisco and Stanford University in Palo Alto. Boss's father was very much present in her life. He was a gruff, materialistic businessman who was more than happy to share with me that he could live a much richer lifestyle in California than he ever could in his native Switzerland. I remember him once disparaging a waitress who was doing an exceptional job of serving us prime rib at a Lawry's Restaurant. "She thinks she has a good job," Mr. Boss remarked.

Looking back, I suspect I had more rapport with Boss's adopted mother. She had refined tastes in antiques and jewelry. I remember that Mrs. Boss wore a huge diamond ring. She once shared a story about how she had evaded a clumsy robbery attempt inspired, in part, by the size of that diamond. Mrs. Boss also enjoyed giving expensive gifts to her daughter and taking her on shopping sprees at the most elite stores in San Francisco. Around graduation time, I remember that Mrs. Boss surprised me when she talked her somewhat stubborn daughter into cutting off that silly woven ankle bracelet -- the significance of which was beyond my understanding -- so that her daughter could attend a party in a formal dress with nylons.

In understanding Boss's role in Dreams from My Father, however, I think it is important to point out that she was not at all a spoiled rich kid. Although she had her own car and could afford her own apartment, she did part-time work as a house cleaner. For example, I remember that Boss had a job cleaning the home of one of Occidental College's political science professors, Jane Jacquette. In Dreams from My Father, Barack Obama makes a big deal about Regina being angered at the thoughtless mess Obama and his friends left behind for the maids to clean in their Haines Hall dormitory. I would not be surprised to learn that Boss might have lectured Obama on the humanity of their maids and on the importance of not making fun of people like her, or her grandmother, who worked at home-cleaning jobs.

Politically, the most significant issue missing from Obama's composite Regina is that the real-life Caroline Boss was then a strongly committed Marxist socialist. Boss served as the co-president of the Democrat Socialist Alliance (DSA) at Occidental College while Obama was a sophomore. We also know, from David Maraniss's book, that Boss she was one of the main speakers at the anti-apartheid event at Occidental on February 18, 1981. In Maraniss's book, Obama's smooth participation in skit where he plays the role of a soon-to-be-arrested South African activist offers a stark contrast to Boss's performance in which -- reminiscent of Phoebe Buffay -- she nervously flubs the introduction of the guest speaker, a visitor from South Africa.

All in all, I think it is safe to say the story of the real-life Caroline Boss would have been much more interesting than the story of the fake Regina -- even the parts of the fake Regina that seem to drawn on the real life of the first lady, Michelle Obama.

I am asking myself, why would Obama delete a vivid white girl from his autobiography and replace her with a big, dark composite character from Chicago?

As a political scientist, I think the best theory is that my girlfriend's story would not have scored Obama many points among his potential black constituents in Chicago. Acknowledging the influence of a white Swiss-American would have called attention to Obama's politically incorrect attachments to a series of wealthy white females including Caroline Boss, Alexandra McNear, and Genevieve Cook. It would have reminded readers that Obama picked Occidental College, in part, because of the advice of a white girl from the wealthy Brentwood area of Los Angeles. Ultimately, I think the story of the real white Regina would have led readers to the uncomfortable realities of the real young Obama -- the Punahou graduate who seemed completely white, the cocaine user who benefited from affirmative action, and the angry dude who got in my face to defend his naïve faith in an inevitable Communist revolution.

In a recent article, "Dreams From Governor Abercrombie," the relentlessly false claims Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie made concerning our president's birth were exposed. Upon examination, it appears that Ann Dunham's girlfriends from high school were having "dreams" just as fanciful as Abercrombie's.

Like Abercrombie's story, the girlfriends' early versions of Ann's visit to Seattle track with details from Obama's autobiography, Dreams from My Father. This is the same story Obama rolled out in both convention speeches -- the "improbable love," the multicultural marriage, the hopes for Barry's future. Unfortunately for Abercrombie, Susan Botkin Blake, and Maxine Box, we now know that their recollections are in no small part erroneous.

The question that needs to be asked is whether these recollections were innocent or orchestrated. The evidence suggests the latter. The evidence also suggests collusion between the storytellers and the major media to shape the narrative to fit the myth of the charmed multicultural family upon which Obama built his candidacy. To see how dreamlike are the girlfriends' memories, one need only analyze the story they tell of Ann's "visit" to Seattle with baby Obama.

Well, the first week into the big lie and the sky is not falling.

This is the first time for Obama that we stood up to this repeated lie and called his bluff.

It was a lie in 2008, it was a lie for every budget negotiation, and it was a lie for every debt ceiling talk and threat of downgrade.

The President is a demagogic liar who should be being called out even as he walks away from his doom and gloom pronouncements about the collapse of government...

Barack Obama: The Man Behind the Mask
Steve McCann, American Thinker
March 4, 2013

Sixty-three months ago Barack Obama officially declared his candidacy for President. Only now are some among the so-called media and ruling elites in America slowly awakening from their self-induced infatuation and beginning to understand who he is. It has become difficult to ignore the overt intimidation, demagoguery and deliberate falsehoods spewed forth by Obama relative to sequestration -- a miniscule cut in the growth of federal spending. However, any cursory examination of his past reveals that these tactics are second nature to the man who currently occupies the Oval Office.

Yet there remains a stubborn unwillingness on the part of many to recognize the essential Barack Obama. Perhaps it is unfathomable to them that they could be wrong about someone who was the epitome of their superficial ideal candidate. They are blinded to the danger by their belief that this country, the wealthiest and most powerful nation in the history of mankind, could never be brought to its knees by anyone.

Barack Obama is a product of 1960's radicalism. His parents, grandparents, mentors, professors and, by his own admission, circle of friends were all disciples of Marxist thought and the tactics of societal revolution. Not only his formative years but virtually his entire life has been an immersion in this mindset -- a mindset which includes a deep seated animosity toward capitalism and individual freedom. Virtually all the despots of the twentieth century had the same philosophical convictions and intellectual backgrounds.

What makes this belief system so popular among those who harbor megalomaniacal tendencies is the core tenet that the end justifies the means. With that simple phrase any tactic is permissible under the rubric that the true believers are pre-ordained to govern the people. Thus no lie is too egregious to tell, no strategy to destroy one's political enemies is out of bounds, and the creation of false crises and faux enemies is not only legitimate but essential. Any leader within government or the national community at large who is captive to this thinking, as Barack Obama has repeatedly revealed throughout his life and political career, must by necessity be devoid of ethics, integrity or morals.

Nearly all the tyrants of the recent past had a unique capacity to mesmerize a large swath of the populace through ability to deliver a speech and create a cult of personality, aided and abetted by a media, if not state sponsored, then one willingly intimidated into doing the bidding of the exalted leader. This ability and extreme narcissism, which Barack Obama has in abundance, is another pre-requisite for despotism.

Another personality trait common to despots is a disregard for life and an unrelenting willingness to use and discard people. While a member of the Illinois Senate, Barack Obama was not only in favor of unfettered abortion rights, he introduced a bill that would make legal the murder of newly born children that miraculously survived an abortion. Throughout his life he has used and manipulated the gullible into being the foot soldiers for his personal ambitions -- whether an entire race of people (African-Americans) by playing on his skin color or the elite ruling establishment wallowing in "white guilt." The most overused phrase describing Obama's actions since he entered the national stage is: "thrown under the bus" and it has been for good reason as in the case of Reverend Jeremiah Wright or many in the media and the Democratic Party.

A well worn tactic by those desirous of becoming autocrats and seizing an ever increasing amount of political power is to keep the populace in a constant state of agitation. As a community organizer and in elected office Obama has a history of using these tactics. Since becoming president he has promoted the escalation of vitriol aimed at inciting retaliation against the tea party movement and conservatives. The demonization of the wealthy has never been so sustained and blatant. The incendiary charge of racism has become the default accusation directed at anyone disagreeing with Barack Obama. As a result racial animosity is approaching levels not seen since the 1960's. There is open talk of curbing free speech, governing by presidential fiat in order to bypass Congress, threatening to seize guns through legislation and regulation, and promoting blanket amnesty for illegal aliens -- all steps geared toward fomenting societal upheaval.

Barack Obama is someone who would willingly inflict pain and suffering on the American people in order to permanently destroy his political enemies and accumulate near dictatorial power for the government he controls. His megalomania does not allow him to care a whit for the citizenry or the long-term future of the country he is pushing into bankruptcy or the nation's ability to survive in a hostile world.

During the past century millions of people were thrown into a cauldron of indescribable suffering which emanated from the inability of sophisticated, albeit fractured, European societies to overcome economic and societal hardships. They chose instead to be willingly manipulated by prospective autocrats promising to solve their nation's woes through their ill-conceived vision of utopia. A utopia that that evolved into the near destruction of a continent and the death of untold millions.

If those currently in power in the United States succeed in eliminating any opposition and continue to inexorably increase their control of the government through their tyrannical tactics, aided and abetted by the media, the sycophants in the ruling class and the entertainment complex, there will inevitably be uncontrolled violence and upheaval within America's borders. The nation's standard of living will drop precipitously; there will be an irrevocable loss of freedom and ultimately the imposition of foreign influence over a once proud nation.

The sequestration tactics by Barack Obama are but the latest manifestation of his mindset. In order to have a free hand to achieve his tyrannical ambitions, he must make certain the Republican control of the House of Representatives is overturned in the 2014 mid-term elections. This is his current and only objective and he will stop at nothing to accomplish that goal. After all this is who Barack Obama is.

Yes, we all want what the president wants: a better job market, a better economy, a stronger middle class, a better educational system. In short a better, fairer way to a robust system in which we all get our just deserts. Yes, we want the American way to be the fair-shot-fair-share way. Boilerplate stuff Obama can make sound like profound insights, gussied up in the patois of left-wing university-speak.

But make no mistake about it. The president is a man with a mission. He is the champion of social justice. This is hardly a secret. Obama has proclaimed as much many times....

[H]owever noble the cause of social justice and however admirable the goal of leveling the playing field, his skill set is limited to his mission or vision. Obama is limited to the skill set he developed as a community organizer in pursuit of social justice and he has indeed touted that as a qualification to be president.

Byron York has an excellent piece of investigative reporting on Obama's years as a community organizer in National Review. York describes the work of a community organizer as follows,

Perhaps the simplest way to describe community organizing is to say it is the practice of identifying a specific aggrieved population, say unemployed steelworkers, or itinerant fruit-pickers, or residents of a particularly bad neighborhood, and agitating them until they become so upset about their condition that they take collective action to put pressure on local, state, or federal officials to fix the problem, often by giving the affected group money. Organizers like to call that "direct action."
He also notes that Obama cites his work as a community organizer as being a qualifying experience for being president,

Barack Obama often cites his time as a community organizer here in Chicago as one of the experiences that qualify him to hold the nation's highest office. "I can bring this country together," he said in a debate last February. "I have a track record, starting from the days I moved to Chicago as a community organizer."
Obama worked as a community organizer from 1985 to 1988, after graduating from Columbia ('83), and then eventually went on to Harvard ('89). After Harvard, Obama spent four plus years (1995-1999) as founding chairman of the board of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC). The challenge was to "remake" the public schools of Chicago. Here is an account of his record in which he basically used the same MO as he did as a community organizer. Identify a problem, only this time instead of hustling money from government agencies he used Annenberg money to fix it. Repeat as needed. The results were not impressive.

Now the president has the ultimate grant machine to play with as champion of social justice and community organizer of the United States -- the U.S. Treasury. But he still identifies the problems facing the economic and social life of U.S. citizens (or should I say denizens) through the fair-shot-fair-share-social-justice lens of the community organizer.

Let me then summarize the community organizer modus operandi (CO-MO). Identify a cohort of citizenry which is undergoing economic hardship and faces a future with bleak prospects. Cast the problem as a raw deal problem in which the system was rigged against the cohort (by villains if possible). Hustle conscience money from private foundations (Annenberg Foundation) and especially government agencies to redress the situation by providing (key word) better housing, better education and greater opportunity.

...

The adage that if one's only tool is a hammer then every problem looks like a nail is most apt here. Obama's skill set is that of the community organizer. Confronted with the issues facing the nation, from whatever realm, from economic to educational and even military (the military needs more gays and women), Obama will always construe those problems as at root social justice problems. Unfortunately, reviving economic growth and redressing the problems of the nation's balance sheet is not a function of rooting out the evil gremlins that are mucking up the system. Wisdom and stupidity are no more derivative of good and evil than double-entry bookkeeping is at the root of the nations' debt problem. Meanwhile, we can expect the president to mount his social justice steed and slay the evil dragons of injustice while economic realities close in on the flanks and choke of the economic health of the nation.

Yes, in proper Soviet fashion...

WE ARE NOT SOCIALISTS! WE BELIEVE IN PRIVATE ENTERPRISE!!!

Private Insurance But Government Control
BETSY MCCAUGHEY, American Spectator
3.4.13

What everyone needs to know.

If you think the Obama health law won’t affect you because you have private insurance, keep reading. The Department of Health and Human Services announced final rules for private insurance last month. The federal government will have control over your care. Sec. 1311 of the law empowers the Secretary of Health and Human Services to dictate how doctors treat privately insured patients and what questions patients must be asked. Your doctor will enter your information into an electronic data base, your doctor’s decisions will be monitored for compliance with federal guidelines, and your doctor may have to choose between what is best for you and avoiding a government penalty.

1. Ask your doctor about keeping two sets of books, if you tell your doctor things you wouldn’t confide to anyone. Otherwise your electronic record will include everything and be seen by thousands of eyes. Have depression, erectile dysfunction, or a drinking problem? Your chiropractor will see it. So will thousands of nonphysicians. President Obama’s January 16 Executive Actions to curb gun violence deemed healthcare privacy protections “unnecessary legal barriers,” making it clear federal agencies will use health information for non-health purposes, such as background checks.

2. Line up your doctors now, if you’re a baby boomer. If you wait until you turn 65 and go on Medicare, you won’t find a doctor willing to treat you. Doctors will be paid less to care for seniors than any other patients.

3. Insist on a specialist, if you have a heart problem. Obamacare requires insurers to implement HMO-like controls that will reduce use of specialists. Recent research shows that patients with unstable angina do far better at avoiding heart attacks when they are seen regularly by cardiologists.

4. Brace yourself for less care at the hospital. Cuts to Medicare pay for over half this law, including a whopping $247 billion reduction in what hospitals will be paid. That will push hospitals into financial crisis, warned Richard Foster, Chief Actuary of Medicare. Nurses will be spread thinner, and patients of every age will wait longer for help.

5. Ask your employer whether your on-the-job coverage is going to be dropped. The law compels employers with 50 or more full time employees to provide a package of benefit that costs twice as much as what many currently offer. Some employers will opt to pay a penalty instead, and notify you by October 1. Amazingly, even federal actuaries admit the employer mandate will result in fewer people having employer coverage.

Some employers are already adjusting the size of their workforce to avoid the mandate, or pushing workers to part-time status (under 30 hours a week). Employers’ obligations in 2014 will be determined by the size of their 2013 workforce.

6. Avoid Medicaid. If you lose on the job coverage, you’ll either be directed to an insurance exchange or dumped into Medicaid. “Dumped” is the right word, because Medicaid is often inferior coverage. Research shows that surgery patients on Medicaid are 50% more likely to die than surgery patients with private coverage and more at risk of dying even than uninsured patients.

Citizens with household incomes below 133% of poverty ($19,000 for a single person and $33,000 for a family of four) are ineligible for subsidized private plans on the exchanges. They have to settle for Medicaid. Legal immigrants with low incomes get a better deal. The law makes them eligible, because otherwise they would be uninsured. Medicaid has a 5 year waiting period for newcomers.

7. Don’t be bamboozled by fancy marketing. An exchange is like a supermarket that only sells one product: the government-mandated “essential benefits” package, period. The bronze, silver, gold, and platinum labels merely indicate different copays and deductibles. The cheapest bronze plan for a family of five will cost about $20,000 (before subsidies), according to the IRS, and will cover only 60% of medical bills. Platinum plans will cover 90%.

The Obama health law empowers the Secretary of Health and Human Services for the first time in history to standardize medical care for privately insured patients. Look for thousands more regulations controlling you and your doctors.

Is it okay then to call them Fascists? Like the guy who is winning in Italy?
