I did have an appointment on April 9 but have had to change that due to other commitments - now will attend the clinic on 30 April instead.

Got a phone call today from the specialist's office to say that my results (CT and colonoscopy) are all clear and I don't have to go through it again for 3 more years

I also don't need to attend that clinic now so we will be back on schedule with dialysis as of tomorrow - we had to do Sunday because Sir had an appointment with His renal doctor yesterday. His bloods were good, so good in fact that the doc is stopping one of His phosphate blocker meds Since we have been dialysing at home He has gone from 3 different blood pressure meds to none at all, and now this one is being stopped.

The extra hours on the machine have really helped - He is getting twice as much machine time as the patients in the dialysis unit in the hospital. It takes up three days out of our week, sometimes more if we have to tweak our schedule, but it's worth it to see Sir looking so much better than He used to.

*smiles* I also got to spend some time with my friend today. It's been a good week, and it's only Tuesday!

With BANDIT's Mum having health issues & her dad as well I insisted she do the tests so we know, I'm not into sticking my head in the sand & hope things just go away but now we do know everything is A-OK.

We can say BANDIT's head & ass checkout fine.

My son is in Switzerland at the moment, he's due to fly home to NZ this weekend but with the volcano going off in Iceland and some airports closed in Europe there could be problems

His hotel has internet access so I'm going to email him and see what's going on.....

Daughter has been visiting Christchurch to catch up with uni friends and she stayed with my mum for a couple of nights too. No milking cows for 3 months so she's got a bit of a break from getting up at 4am to milk

All is good here, Sir is feeling the cooler weather (His arthritis is acting up big time) and it is supposed to be showery for the next couple of days which always makes Him ache. We've put the portable aircon away and brought out the heater but haven't used it yet. The last couple of nights He's gone to bed around 11pm but wakes around 3am and can't get comfortable so gets up and puts the computer and TV on. This morning He stayed up for breakfast and is now on dialysis and sleeping.

I also heard that my niece by former marriage has just lost her much wanted baby girl....K was on IVF because she has endometriosis but managed to get pregnant on a break between cycles. Baby Zoe was born early and was very ill (bowel problems I believe) and died a few days later. I am not in contact with her but 3 of her cousins are on my Facebook so will send a message through one of them

Sir's mobile phone shat itself a few weeks ago. We only bought it in November last year - and I couldn't find the receipt, which I'd put away in a "safe place"

I spent most of today trolling through eBay and various Google sites looking for a similar phone in our price range. Talk about frustrating

However a few minutes ago I miraculously remembered where that "safe place" was. I found the receipt and the instruction book, so it's all safely packed back in the original box ready to go back to the store tomorrow. The phone has a 12 month warranty so hopefully I will be able to get a replacement or failing that our money back to go towards another phone.

We took the phone back to the store yesterday. Unfortunately they didn't have any others like it in stock so we have to wait 2-3 weeks for new stock to arrive. We got our money back anyway so that's set aside for the new phone. Right now in desperation He's using my old one which is very small and difficult for Him to see anything on the screen.

I'm buggered if I'm paying over $100 for a simple mobile phone I've looked online and a similar phone to the one Sir had, but different brand, is retailing anywhere from $149 to $249AU

All we want is a simple phone with big buttons, that is easy to use, and has an easy to read screen for someone who is dyslexic and with rather poor eyesight. All it has to do is make calls and send text messages. A camera would be nice, but isn't really necessary.

Hell even I need my glasses to read the screen of my Nokia flip phone. And it was recommended to me as a good phone for elderly folks. It probably is, if you're not technically challenged and have reasonable eyesight!

Oh, and I heard from my son, he made it out of Zurich just in time before they closed the airport. He said things were chaotic in Singapore where he had to change planes, with people sleeping at the gates they were hoping to fly out from

On Friday I went out and bought a digital HDD recorder. Still sussing out how to work it, but managed to successfully timer record a show last night.

For the next few weeks (speedway off season) we will be doing dialysis every 2nd day. We're finding with the cooler weather Sir is holding too much fluid over the 2 day break we usually have over the weekend.

It's going to be a pain in the bum but will be worth it with Sir feeling better and not having to pull off nearly 5 litres of fluid over 8 hours which knocks Him around.

For some unknown reason Sir's blood pressure plummeted in the middle of dialysis so He had to come off, which probably means He will need to get back on the machine tomorrow....it was pretty scary at the time but He is fine and hopefully things will be ok tomorrow.
