Just finished up a batch of dark chocolate brownies with white chocolate chips mixed in. (Yes, I know, white chocolate isn't real chocolate. It still tastes good!) Nothing like baking on a cold rainy day. :)

Any personal favorites?

I made sugar cookies with my niece this afternoon. We even frosted them! We were nice and shared them with the rest of our family (and my family is large!)

My personal favorite are oatmeal raisin cookies, though chocolate chip come in a close second.

Carrot cake with cream cheese icing. Gonna have to make one tomorrow now. Thanks for nothing, devilduck. :p

I made one of these last weekend. ;) I knew you had good taste!

Sour Dough bread. It tastes heavenly with hot butter, but more than even the taste, the smell is just yummy :)

Oh! Agreed!

Double Doozies. Chocolate chip cookie sandwiches with fluffy white icing in the middle.

I've always liked baking, cakes, cookies, brownies, apple pie from scratch. Unfortunately, my wife doesn't care for pastry, a cultural thing, and I hate to be a pig and eat everything.

cookies? snickerdoodles or ginger snaps...
cakes? carrot cake with cream cheese icing...
pies? sour cream apple, raspberry, mince, blueberry, lemon cheesecake, pecan, strawberry, caramel apple, pumpkin...
breads? anything fresh out of the oven...

just gotta limit myself to not baking anything new 'til the old stuff is gone!

Cat -any hints? I am determined to make pumpkin pie whilst the pumpkins are in season this year!

I love lots of nutty things, but I can't bake'em :( My husband is allergic to nuts.

I love to find new recipes online and then give them a go, I have a big blue book where i write down internet recipes, do them, then I give them a star rating so I'll know if they're worth repeating :D

I'll send you the recipe for it when I get back online. I'll be gone for a little while, (who knows how long,) as I have to be in work tonight until the all clear is called.

I have never baked a pumpkin pie from a pumpkin. I used to use canned pumpkin and have to add eggs, spices, etc. but now that is all included in the can. They may be trying to make it goof proof but they take the fun and creativity out of it. I will see if I can manage to bake one this year.

It's very easy to make it from a fresh pumpkin. Simply cut a pie pumpkin (different from a carving pumpkin by a long shot) in half from stem to bottom, scoop out the seeds and pulp, place cut side down on a cookie sheet, and put into a 350* F oven until it's soft. Let it cool, then peel of the outer peel (it should come off easily) and squish the meat.
