Tried making the custard a couple of times and ended up with nothing but a mess.

I love lots of nutty things, but I can't bake'emMy husband is allergic to nuts.
I love to find new recipes online and then give them a go, I have a big blue book where i write down internet recipes, do them, then I give them a star rating so I'll know if they're worth repeating![]()

It's very easy to make it from a fresh pumpkin. Simply cut a pie pumpkin (different from a carving pumpkin by a long shot) in half from stem to bottom, scoop out the seeds and pulp, place cut side down on a cookie sheet, and put into a 350* F oven until it's soft. Let it cool, then peel of the outer peel (it should come off easily) and squish the meat.Boxlicker101 said:I have never baked a pumpkin pie from a pumpkin. I used to use canned pumpkin and have to add eggs, spices, etc. but now that is all included in the can. They may be trying to make it goof proof but they take the fun and creativity out of it. I will see if I can manage to bake one this year.
