Picking a new bag is a royal fucking pain. Baguette, Bucket, Clutch, Hobo, Sling,...

What do you like and why?

Does anyone here have this bag and will admit to it?

Who is Lit's most likely own it?

As in all things I will go with Dolf....

'hobo' is the style that I prefer for everyday use.

I like the strap/s to be just long enough to fling over my shoulder,
but not so long that it thwacks me in the knee if I want to wear it over my elbow instead.

it needs to have at least one pocket on the inside, preferably with a zipper.
and I like for there to be a small pocket on the outside for my keys, but that's negotiable.

medium in size--big enough to hold the necessaries,
but it's not meant to be a fucking overnight bag, FFS people.

leather, not fabric. neutral colors are best--black or chocolate for fall/winter, grey or taupe for spring/summer.
I did go crazy last summer and spend thirty dollars on a bag that is blush pink, but typically I try to be more restrained with my purchases.

that being said, I often shop secondhand,
and have a metallic bag and a Granny-apple-green bag that I picked up for less that five bucks a pop,
and I feel no shame.

I like this bag from Target:

I would be most likely to get it in tan (or grey), least likely to get it in lilac or mint.
the blue sky is very tempting, though...

I kid you not I have an armadillo purse that my Grampa won in a bar raffle and gave to my mom back in '55. I'd take a pic but I'm far from home.

It's just the body with his little beady jeweled eyes and then there's a flap to open to the inside of hallowed out body. It is so ugly and awesome all at once, and quite the conversation piece.

I want that bag! I would even use it, unlike all the other bags I have. :)

I mainly use a small leather sling/backpack that is one of those zippered strap jobs, picked it up for $5 at a resale shop.

I still have quite a few old heavy duty Coach bags, Whiting and Davis evening ones and such from the world I am no longer part of. Also a cross over bag from when I had to use crutches for a LONG time. Backpacks and crutches don't work.

I have been working on a cross over bag design based on the current trends and something I picked up as swag a few cons ago.

I usually just add pockets to my clothing though.

Some cool bags. Aquagal, that's too funny. When you can, post a picture in this thread. Noor, I looked at in said god it's ugly but I'd use it.:)

I have some antique bags that I inherited but they are evening bags. I used one with my steampunk outfit, but usually they just hang out in a drawer, 2 of them are supposed to go hang out in a museum but I haven't done that yet.
I also have a czarist samovar complete with proper seals that needs to migrate somewhere.

It looks like this one but I think the eyes are like red glass or rubys or something. I'll try and remember to take a pic on Sunday.

Armadillo purse

That's pretty cool looking, Aqua. Please do.

Noor, I like metal box purses. Those are my favorite, not practical for everyday but nice for evening out. I can never find them anymore. My house got robbed a few years ago and my two box purses I still had got damaged. Use to get them from a lady who did imports from India, the ones on line are way over priced.

Ameribag rules, especially in regions laden with pickpockets and thieves. Run a steel cable through the strap to avoid strap-slashers. Don't go to Guatemala without it.

Thanks! It's fun, I should do something about that broken strap, not sure what though.

I've got a collection of vintage Doone&Burke that won't wear out. Love them.
