translation?

I read literotica from a few years now.

I often think about posting a story myself but english is not my language and the french part of literotica is not realy full of stuff and i wonder sometime if someone go there....

So i mixed all this and i think at least that the french erotica need more stories

So, i'ld like to translate some english ones.

I am not a professional translater but i can read most of the stories here.

Can someone help me to find some good stories to (try to) translate (with the agrement of the writer of course)

i say good for the erotic and also english grammar.

I put what i like in my profile, but i am very open mind.

Not to be a bitch or anything but your syntax leaves a lot to be desired. I don't think you could do justice to any stories supplied to you if your post up here is any indication of your translation abilities.

Yes i know it LadyCibelle, but english is not my language and i understand better than i write it. As i said, i am not a professional translater but i have a good practice in french writing and i think i can do it with respect for the original writers.

As you may or may not know there is quite a great number of erotic site where you can post your story in French. And this way, could be a very interesting way to develop your knowledge or Shekepeare language ?

Oui bien sûr, a vrai dire je préfère aussi les textes originaux mais il y a pour moi une notion de plaisir dans ce désir de traduction:

1) celui de pratiquer et de progresser en anglais.

2) il y a longtemps que je souhaite écrire quelques histoires moi même sans parvenir à me décider, en traduire quelques unes serait pour moi une bonne entrée en matière.

It doesn't matter, as long as he can understand English. It is well-known that professional translators invariably translate much better into their mother tongue than into some other language.

I have worked in French, and I can read French erotica with no problems, but I would not dream of trying to translate my own stories into French.

je suis d'accord avec vous.
Je sais qu'il existe des sites en français, mais je ne sais pas pourquoi je préfère de beaucoup Lliterotica qui est très complet.
De plus je pense que pour beaucoup d'histoire le fait de les lire dans un autre language (je ne suis pas polyglotte moi même) leur confère une distance qui renforce l'érotisme. Une sorte d'exotisme en quelque sorte.

I know there are some french site but i prefer Literotica which is very complete.
I think that for a lot of stories to read them in an other language (i am not polyglotte) make them more etotic. Something exotic...

yes, and i see very fast if i can do it or not.
Some writer are harder for me because of the grammatical sructure or the use of many idioms. I will not try poetry works for the beginning for instance.

Yeah, you're right. As long as he can understand English. But understanding English, or French for that matter, doesn't mean you'll catch all the subtle nuance there is, is it?

I'm not saying it's impossible but you need to have an absolute complete grasp of the language to be able to do an okay job at translation, so imagine a good one now.

Anyway, it's none of my business and I didn't mean to infer it was either. I just wanted to put in my 0.02. I, nonetheless, still continue to say that with the syntax, grammar and vocabular he's shown above that I don't recommend him to do it.

Oui, bien sûr, tu as raison. En autant qu'il comprenne l'Anglais, ou même le Français, mais ça ne signifie pas pour autant qu'il saisiras toute les nuances subtiles compris dans le langage n'est-ce pas?

Je ne dis pas que c'est impossible, loin de là, mais tu dois avoir une maitrise quasi parfaite de la langue pour réussir à faire un boulot passable, alors imagines une bonne traduction.

De toute façons, ce n'est pas mes oignons et je n'essayais pas de dire que ça me regardais. Je voulais tout simplement ajouter mon opinion. Je maintiens, par contre, qu'avec la syntaxe, grammaire et vocabulaire qu'il a démontré plus haut qu'il n'est pas recommandé qu'il s'y essait, mais, ce n'est que MON opinion.

I know where i am with my english and i will not discuss if it is good or not to do it. I believe in action and i think the best way to know is to try. Nobody will die except my honnor if i miss it
