After many months of trying to get my book into Barnes and Noble stores and have a book signing there, I gave up on them. I was invited yesterday. Their company policy doesn't allow for self-published authors like me, but the manager at the B&N in Lafayette, IN has decided to have a Local Author Day. There will be several authors from central Indiana on hand to sell and sign our books. Hopefully this event will be a step in getting my book carried through B&N brick and mortar stores. They sell it in the online store already. No matter what, it sounds like fun.

If anyone is in or near Lafayette, IN on April 2nd between 4 pm and 7 pm, stop in and say "Hey fucker". I answer to that because that's what my grandmother calls me. :)

Boota,

Bit of a long commute for me from the UK, but congrats anyway.

I hope it works out well for you.

woo hoo for you Boota -I'd pop in but I doubt I'll be in the vicinity at the time *L*

Congratulations, Boota! Maybe I should make the trip to the old stomping ground. I went to Purdue... :D

Congrats! Indiana's not too far from here, but they so rarely let me out to travel alone...

More than congratulations, Best wishes! I admire anyone who takes on that level of commitment and involvement with his writing. Being a good, even excellent, writer is one thing; getting into, and following through on, the politics is a whole 'nuther ballgame!

Please post afterward and let us know what happened!

Softie -- waving your flag

Thanks everyone! I'm really excited about this opportunity. I'm hoping it can open some doors for me that have been closed as of yet. I'll definitely be sure to let everyone know how it went when it's over.

Joe,

My book is called Mr. Undesirable. It's a brutal comedy about a guy who wins $158 million in a lottery and uses the money to get revenge on the snobs who treated him badly when he was poor. Real "stick it to the man" stuff.

If anyone who hasn't would like to check it out, you can read a two page sample at www.mr-undesirable.com and the entire first section of chapter one at Amazon.com with the search inside the book feature.
