This is a fascinating race. Kari Lake was considered a long shot early on. The former TV news anchor with no experience, widely portrayed in the national media as a fringe candidate has pulled within striking distance of becoming the next governor of AZ. When you listen and watch the 2 candidates, it’s easy to see why. There’s a huge difference in the communication skills of these two women. I now understand why Hobbs won’t debate even though it’s probably a huge mistake.

This story is a year old and didn’t get much coverage by major news outlets (other than CNN). It doesn’t seem to have damaged her campaign either. It was initially picked up by CNN, The Daily Beast, The Advocate, and some LGBT websites in November of 2021 and the tweet was from August of this year. Her polling numbers have surged since then. The guy showed up at a campaign event and got his picture snapped with her along with everyone else at the event that wanted a picture with her. The story didn’t get much traction because politicians often pose with people they don’t know. If SHE had called for a LGBTQ quarantine, it probably would have been a major story.

Her opposition to mask/vaccine/lockdown mandates and her beliefs about the 2020 election however has been widely covered and were major factors (along with Trump’s endorsement) in her primary victory. In the general she’s been focusing more on illegal immigration, drug trafficking, inflation and other issues that are high priorities with AZ voters.

Arizona is a swing state. Most elections there are likely to be close regardless of who wins.
If Lake does win, the usual suspects will undoubtedly want her to be the token in the 2024 presidential primaries. I wonder if she'll be dumb enough to run?

The fear of any Republican candidate by Democrats is directly proportional to the hate directed at that candidate.

And people doth loudly protest and angrily reply when I say that the Democrat Party is a party of "emotion..."

Hobbs definitely fears Lake. She’s refused to debate her and she’s now struggling to explain why she’s a debate denier.

That would certainly explain your ever-dependable stream of clear-eyed, levelheaded assessment of anyone who disagrees with you

No she isn't. She's made it clear from square one that she doesn't wish to provide a platform for Lake to spread her Big Lie nonsense. There's no point in debating anyone who believes in that.

*chuckle*

A shallow excuse is a good excuse when it's your team.

You sound like Tom Brady explaining why his teammates are the reason he's not winning this year...

Is Lake the candidate that the democrats threw money at in the belief she'd be 'weak?'

In this electoral environment, it begs the question, how far ahead would a strong candidate be?

;) ;)

I see that Lake's opponent is sticking to the 'election denier' mantra even after Lake has shoved that one up her ass. The funny part is that the other republicans are leveraging off of Lake's research. That whole narrative is falling apart on the dems.

I wonder how Abrams can keep denying her loss without the same furor as over Trump...

;) ;)

... not really.

Falling apart!

From the man who gave us "Vladimir Putin, super genius" and "Elon Musk, super genius," enjoy the premature gloating (co-starring Tweedle-Dum).

The ripples of unintended consequence...
Or "Be careful what you ask for."
was this meant for the OP of this thread?

because, uhhhhhhhh

:ROFLMAO:

Arizona has been Californicated. Californians fleeing Democrat policy move to Arizona.... and vote Democrat.

Enjoy the homelessness, crime and outrageously overpriced cost of living Arizona LOL
