What an amazing photo of an amazing moment in history.

That is an amazing photo. Contrasted against the more famous photo makes it all the more so.

I've been staring at this photo for about 5 minutes.

The other images of this man used to make me cry.

This one makes me feel hollow.

While others flee, he approaches and will confront.

Alot has been written about this individual. Most folks agree that he was arrested and executed.



I've had this opinion since the first time saw him twenty years ago...not only should he receive the Nobel Peace Prize (somehow), but that the Medal be altered...showing the famous confrontation that was captured for windows so far away.

What really strikes me about that photo is the considerable distance between him and the tanks. It wasn't a spur-of-the-moment situation that he found himself in. Guy had plenty of time to think it trough, to change his mind and bolt.

I found this and despite the fact that I have been and remain aware of the events, I am not certain I had ever seen this video... The bravery of the act is truly inspiring.
