Awesome! Man!

I'm in awe of a dove. I just moved back out to the semi-country a few months ago. Right outside my window behind my computer, stands a pine tree with low branches. I sat one day and watched a pair of turtledoves mate on the branch closest to me. Over the next week I watched them build a nest right there and then watched as the female lay her eggs. I have no idea how many she lay. I waited and soon they hatched. I watche dher feed them day by day. Saw them grow from naked little chicks to beautiful young doves. Then sat here one day and watched as one by one they each spread their wings and flew.

A week later I listened as the guns sounded on opening day of dove season and I prayed that mine would survive.

I'm in awe of the way a father talks of his toddler son....
<looks at JR with a twinkle in her eyes>

soft kisses,

I have always been in awe of raptors. I consider Red Tail Hawks as my personal totem.

And another awesome thing...when my love is away from me (more than she already is) but calls in from the road. And the first thing I hear is her sexy giggle. Totally awesome, that.

kikmosa I have a White-winged Dove that shows up every so often at my bird feeders. They are not very common around here.
This bird or a single bird at first would show up early every November for the past few years briefly for one day, I started seeing it once a month or so last June. What is interesting when looking into an animal powers book the dove represents feminine energy :) I have not figured out how that relates to me yet. Your doves are most likely Eurasian Collared Doves which look very simular to Turtle Doves. The Eurasian Collared Doves are slowly getting established over the country spreading from the Bahamas originally. One population was introduced into California and is spreading toward the middle of the country. When they meet the doves will be all over the country. Needless to say this bird once considered an exotic is now an established native species.

I really have been enjoying my close encounters with the raptors lately. I do not know if you are a birder but the immature red-tailed hawk is sometimes hard to tell from other hawks because the tail is not red in youth. If you live in the Eastern United States the birds have a dark band that extends across the belly.
and this makes Identifying them easy.....in the west it is not so easy but the birds have a dark mark on the leading edge of the wing except for "Krider's and the intermediate and dark morph birds. Fortunately all these birds have red tails as adults.

If you want an excellent Bird book that shows the various types of Red-tailed Hawks get yourself copy of David Allen Sibley's National Audubon Society "The Sibley Guide to Birds"

I can't wait to hear my honey's giggle on the pillow next to me.
:)

JR...I'm on the west edge of the east, if you like (SE Wisconsin) so I see a few variants. And thanks for the tip on Sibleys. I'll watch for it.

I am in awe of many things. Most of which are little , everyday things that probably seem really silly. I am in awe when i sit in the porch and waych the hummingbirds fight over the feeder, that such a small creautre can be so fiesty. watching my dog when she gave birth to her puppies, but most of all I am in awe of my husband and 3 children. That the Lord thought that I deserved to be blessed with a husband who loves me unconditionally, and 3 beautiful healthy children whom i would give my life for. I am in awe of life itself and and all the wonderful things which lie in store for me.

Natural wonders...

At this time of year, I'm definitely in 'awe' of the changing colors of the leaves...

And in a bittersweet sense, the power of tornados, as we've seen today.

Roman

Storm

The rain pours across the land
Drowning all in its path
Never ending, always flowing
Driving winds ripping through

Nature screams in anger
As she tears the land apart
Her fury unleashed upon
The seas, as she whips the waves

Thunder rumbles and crashes
Lightening flares and pulses
Trees give before the wind
Or break and tumble down

Life huddles in hidden places
Struggling to survive
Fighting simply to take
That next breathe

The wrath of Nature
Rules this existence
But as day follows night
So does calm follow the storm

Her anger spent at last
Nature slows and takes
The time to send a healing
Touch to all in need

spiritual, yet not religious

emotional, recognize emotions and acknowlege them

physical, have fun doing it

natural, appreciate nature and nuture it

seasonal, each has a purpose

sexual, explore and value it

What a wonderful thread! AWESOME!

Hello Hornymama, Welcome!
The sense of awe brings one in accord to the universe, being provoked into awe by small things makes you a very spiritual person in my view. :)

Well thank you. I appreciate that. I would like to think i am a spiritual person. sometimes it just amazes me as to how some of the simplier things in life have the most meaning and make our lives what they are. It's awes me to plant seeds with my 6 yr. old and see how excited he gets when he sees them poking through the ground. I think we all take things for granted way to much.

Modern life with all it's distractions can blanket the senses and blind one to the simple things, our ability to ground to reality I think is based on the basics.
I look forward to sharing such things with my 22 month old, we were watering plants together today. Life is precious in all it's diversity.:rose:

A simple but awesome thing of which I was just reminded.

Taking a nap with someone you love. The feeling of closeness & warmth, even if the touch is minimal. That contentment.

I hope JR doesn't mind me answering to everyone on this thread...<sends him many kisses>

KiKi....that poem was wonderful...as they all are. Keep up the writing for all of us to be in awe of.

Roman....Fall is my favorite time of year. I love taking drives and looking at all the splendor of this season.

Irish...I can't wait to nap with my sweetie...c'mere JR!!!!

I am in awe of the fact that you can meet people on here, never see them or actually talk to them, but feel like you are somehow connected and they are like a best friend.

Youall are ''awesome" and I thank each and every one of you.

I am in awe of the sweetest whisper of hope that envelopes my being. The one that caresses my broken soul and makes my spirit whole again. To know that there is a kind of love that overwhelms yet protects, that brings joy while kissing away the tears, that naturally evolves into something greater than anyone could anticipate. The rush of his voice as it leaves his lips to dance upon my soul. To tell me that all will be ok and that he is there and will never allow anyone or anything to hurt me again. A moment like this is rare. One that people wait their entire lives to find. So gentle, so carefree, so comfortable, so endearing, so rich and true. So vibrant and fun. A safe haven where trust is treasured and it is implicit.

I am in awe of the power of prayer. To spiritually be in a place where I know I am being taken care of and that I can meditate my thoughts and worries away. To pray for what my heart believes in and desires. Not only for myself but those I love and care about.

I am in awe of the strength behind those tiny little arms that wrap themselves around my neck every day and those little bodies that climb on my lap and lay their heads upon my chest and look up to me with great admiration and unconditional love and whisper "I love you mommy". I am in awe that the kind of love and innocence that is within my children and how much I learn from them every day. They breathe new life into me. To hear their laughter is like the sweet melody of a songbird in flight.

I am in awe of butterflies in flight. Such natural beauty. Such elegance and grace. The feel of the ocean breeze across my face and the smell of ocean mist. The flowing of waterfalls as the water dances down to meet the body of water below. Like the tears flow from ones eyes. The way the sun's rays warm us and bring lumination the sky. The simplicity of laying on my back and watching the clouds move. So calming and relaxing and for a moment, forgetting about the world outside that moment. The way the rain also dances and makes a sweet sound and a freshness. I love everything about the rain. And the way a storm arouses me.

I am in awe of those who fight for our freedom. The bravery of these men and women. Heros, no doubt.

I am in awe of those who have faced many life struggles and still find a way to be kind and beautiful spirits that grace our life journey.

I am in awe of the fact that I am still blessed each and every day of my life no matter the heartaches I have faced and am facing. The fact that I am a survivor.

I am in awe of the way music is my escape. I find myself wanting to crawl inside the lyrics of a song and just escaping from reality for awhile.

I am in awe of the beauty that surrounds me in many ways, many things, many people. Astounding really.

Beautifully written Jewelz you never disappoint me. I have been enjoying your writting on other threads. Thank you.
