What provokes awe in you....

spiritual
physical
intellectual
natural

anything that causes you to stop and ponder

I am often caught by nature, Old trees, lush wilderness,
spiderwebs, birds, the ocean.

Intellectually grasping concepts that I thought were beyond my ability to surmise. Appreciating well written thought.

Natural, the beauty of a woman, the fires of passion

Physical a powerful mambo dance with a wonderful partner.

Spiritually, the thrill of loving and being loved.

The power of love... always!

The unselfish giving of oneself to help others...

OK, I'll make a list... I'll be back John!

:rose:

A raging storm with thunder, lightening, and the sea crashing against the rocks.

A special someone who shares the same feelings ...giving back what you are giving..

Nature....walking ...listening...smelling....seeing....God's wonders.

Feeling like a wild and randy schoolgirl again....

Life in general...being glad that I'm alive..and thanking God everyday for it.

Children...viewing things from their eyes....

The man who started this thread. He is so sweet and adorable.
His sweetie is a very lucky lady.

I'm in awe of all the above and I'm sure there is more. I'll be back.

soft kisses,

Spiritual~ Connectin with someone on a first meeting so completely that you feel like you've known them forever.

Physical~ Dancing to loud, pulsating electronic music all night.

Intellectual~ Getting totally lost in a good book.

Natural~ Being completely amazed at the complicated way in which life works... atoms and molecuses and cells and even spirals and patterns in nature are fabulous.

spiritual - the caring and love shown here at lit

physical - watching a streak of lightening run across the sky in a thousand fingers of light.

intellectual -the way people can take marks on a piece of paper and turn them into music

natural - watching ice form on a window pane with the sunset shining through it.

I watch with wonder the awkward grace of a toddler as he manipulates his surroundings.

I would have to add Hurricanes to my list
Standing in and watching the power of the wind. Listening to the storm at night after the power has failed, the crashes and thumps in the dark. The shriek of the tormented air moving around the eaves of the house.....

This man is the lucky one to have a woman with such a beautiful heart. :rose:

I'm in awe when I see a baby snuggled down in it's mother's arms sleeping with perfect trust that it will be protected.

I used to love those a little better before I got caught in one out in the open sea on a sailboat.....I love em....but I feel more fear probably because Florida is the lightning capitol of the world.

Another time was on the Old Suwannee River in a canoe...Lighting bolts all around us and close too! We beached the canoe and huddled like animals against the bank. My heart was in my throat that day.

kikmosa you touched a tender one for me. My little boy has fallen asleep on me since he was a tiny baby.....My heart swells and I get teary eyed at the thought.

Communion....

Inhaling deeply the essence that surrounds those nearest and dearest, your child, your lover, your best friend...then exhaling all of that wonderful energy, only to fill your being with it again!

The touch of a lover you crave, the hug that spreads your Love, the kiss that connects us all...

A Very Bubbley1

Bubbley1, you are at a place I would like to be eventually.
It is there in my head but I have not made the place in real life yet.:rose:

Looking down at the world from an airplane at 10,000 feet...seeing the complexity of modern artificial life, and how it is dwarfed by our natural surroundings.

The fact that a simple conversation can bring the realization that there is perhaps an infinite number of ways to view the world, and mine is only one.

Lately, the sacrifice that some people are willing to make to save the life of a stranger.

Oh, and the brilliantly scatalogical improvisation of Robin Williams.

I'm in awe of the connection two people can find. Their hearts and minds coming together as if they were destined to find each other.

Also, the amount of love one can hold in one's heart. Feeling as if it will burst but yet still having that love grow more every day.

Today, I'm in awe of the world because it is such a wonderful and beautiful place. I'm happy.

Watching an Apollo rocket launch was a awsome thing......the roar of the launch would travel 35 miles away and still shake everything....

Things that provoke awe in me:

*the strength people possess to overcome great tragedy in their life; their ability to keep going....

*observing small children as they figure things out, seeing that lightbulb click on in their head...

*loving someone deeply and being loved in return

Great thread JR. I will come back to add more....
