Where would I find the rules for avatars and signature images?

The Forum Rules detail some of the things that aren't allowed in AVs or sigs, so you should definitely check those out very carefully.

Avatars: Your image can't be more than 150 pixels in the largest dimension or greater than 15.0 kb, whichever is smaller. Info like this is in our How To FAQ sticky , for future reference. If you haven't lurked here for a while, you may want to go through it, as there's lots of crucial info newbies usually want, and in many cases, need to to know.
