I like DGE's avatar at present alot, unusual for me because I'm much more a 'eyeing up girls' type when it comes to pics, but his is really arty and not so full-on.

The avatar is a chance for people to add a little bit of themselves: they make the choice. So it's interesting to see what people select. Sometimes it seems at odds with what I think I know about them. But if you follow someone for awhile, you can usually see that their avatar does evoke some quality of their personality.

Netz's pose is as exact as her words. Keroin's avs make me want to grab a Mtn. Dew and snowboard down Mt. Rainier. I'mOnIt's is zingy, like his posts. DVS's is, um, devious. WD's are straightforward. MWY's is ironically amused. Chy's is a mannerism that I can envision her doing multiple times a day. I can hear a sinister laugh when I look at Roscoe's.

Sometimes it's an intimacy factor: you look at the av and get a small sense of what it would be like to be in the room with the person. Molly, CM, Etoile, satin, sb2009, subish.
