How do you get the custom avatar option? :c I'm sure this question has been asked a thousand times, but I can't seem to find the answer.

you did miss it: it's in the blank manual thread.
1. you need a minimum of 100 posts.
2. since you've already got 101, log out of lit, close your browser, reopen & log back in. you should then be able to go to your user profile & upload one.

when all else fails, dump the cookies in your web browser.
the issue is that your browser is relying on cached information. normally, this speeds up the browsing process, but sometimes--like now--is a problem. the trick is in forcing the browser to look at everything again.
your browser should have instructions about how to do so in the help section.
