Hi All

yesterday, my story "Summer by the Sea Pt.02" was published. When I originally uploaded it I assigned it to the manually created series "Adam in Public", and it shows up correctly in the list of my submissions.

However, this morning, the Series section in my Literary Control Panel has an automatically created series named "Summer by the Sea" with the same two stories as "Adam in Public":

Clicking on the cogwheel gives the following screen

Should I "switch on manual management", "delete the series", or wait?

[ADD:] the subsequent stories in the series will have different titles so relying on automatic is not an option.

You should be able to delete the automatic series. If it pops back up again the next time you add a chapter, you may have to PM Laurel and see if there's anything she can do from the backend to keep the glitch from popping up with every chapter.

Yeah, same happened to me, though I only found out when the third part of my story was posted and I couldn't add it to the manually created series. Apparently, a story can only be part of ONE series, which is why it didn't allow me to add it... though, in that case, how did the two parts that I had already added to a series find their way into the automated one?

I had to delete my own series and then edit the automatic one.

That sucks.

I have followed @RejectReality's advice and deleted the automatic one … which promptly appeared in the submission list, and is still there 6 hours later!

The good news is that the "Read more" link is the correct manual series.

It wasn't deleting the automatic series that caused that, because I looked before replying here, and it was already there on your submissions page. It may take a while for it to update on your submissions page. I think individual story data ( scores, Hs ) updates several times a day, but the underlying structure ( story list ) only updates once every 24 hours.

I looked at just about the time the new stories for the day were going live, which is when I think that cache update happens.

It was meant as a whaddya know shrug.

The submissions panel is definitely slower at updating.
