AUTOBIOGRAPHIES by bdsm folks or similar aberrant persons

Anyone know of autobiographies of dom/mes, subs, bdsm folk, or similarly aberrated persons? Help, Can you help add to this list?

This type of story seems a good way to get an 'inside' view, better than reading, for instance a bio of Sacher Masoch by a non-participant. A taste for pain is one of my favorites (female masochist). I cannot vouch for quality of these items.

Although there are many short 'life-story' pieces, at literotica, and other places on the net, I don't know of many books by bdsm people that are autobiographies. Here is what an hour's search at a few sites. including Barnes and Noble, yielded. About 15 clear examples, though some are out of print. Sorry I haven't the time to pretty up the list.

In some cases, there was no description, so I am guessing according to the title. There are many 'gray' cases, such as autobiographical novels (mostly not included) and discussions of the 'lifestyle' with lots of personal anecdotes (sometimes included).

At the end are a few other books that captured my interest.

My Private Life by Mistress Nan (A485) - 14.95
This is a very interesting, true autobiography by Mistress Nan, a well-known and respected personality here in the Southern California scene. These are "greatest hits" stories, reaching all the way back to the 50's, in which Mistress Nan writes about what it was like to grow up kinky during that time in America, and about some of her many adventures (some of them quite intense) in the decades since. ...A Daedalus title.

SlaveCraft by Guy Baldwin (B313) - 15.95
Guy Baldwin, author of Ties That Bind, joins forces with a grateful slave to produce this gripping and personal account on the subject of consensual slavery. Philosophical and intense, SlaveCraft ...gives us an intimate and revealing view from a rare perspective - that of a slave. The authors examine the psychology and spirituality behind the Master/slave dynamic, ... Beautifully written and intriguing, SlaveCraft is sure to leave an impact. 178 pages. A Daedalus title.

Chainmale 3SM by Don Bastian (B314) - 13.95
Don Bastian, respected member of the leather communtiy for over a decade, ...This fast-paced account of one man's experience with his own sexuality and eventual involvement in a loving and successful three way kink relationship, is uninhibited and honest. Flowing craftily between coming of age memories, thoughts and philosophies, and personal scene-related experiences, ...Hot yet informative,.... 111 pages. A Daedalus title.

In her autobiography," Whips and Kisses", Psychologist, Professional Dominatrix and switch spanking enthusiast Mistress Jacqueline says that although she never was spanked as a child, the emotional abuse she received made her wish for physical punishment instead. She feels she enjoys receiving spankings as a gesture of affection because of this. She is a ProDom, but privately a switch submissive seeking a Master.

Try "You Beat People Up For a Living, Don't Yóu Mummy?": Inside the World of the Dominatrix compiled and edited by Roy Turner.

It's a recent comp of full interviews. Actually I'm not sure if it's in print yet. I got hold of a reader's copy.

Think this is an interesting subject to explore. Think I may have reference to some in my library which is somewhere between here and Oz, so will try and remember to let you know if I have luck when it arrives in the near future hopefully.

FWIW, you've already listed everything I can find by doing subject searches on Amazon.com.

Hi Etoile,

Thanks for the compliment. You rock. As does 'On our backs.'

Oh, I did just remember that the book Modern Primitives has some biographies of "aberrants."
