Author's favorite erotic stories.

I would like to write a story which would appeal to true connoseurs of erotica. I was wondering if fellow authors would give the names of a few of their favorite erotic stories and why they like them. The top lists are not always helpful, because I want to focus on good writing as well as hot action.

I want to see if there are any obvious trends in theme, plot, or style.

What are the elements you would seek in your ultimate story?

There is such diversity!

My absolute favorite, so far, is Janie & Dell, by Madame Pandora. It's in incest, though it isn't technically incest. I like the fact that there is already a caring relationship established between the characters. Dell is pretty rough with Janie at one point, though he doesn't hurt her, but I like that because it adds a hot, primal element to the story. Overall, it's just well written, with no major errors to throw the reader out of the story.

We're all going to have such differing opinions, I doubt there will be any way to write one story to please even most of us. Good luck, though.

For me, I find the whole issue of taboo, and breaking them, as incredibly sexual. I think most others do to, and hence why incest categories are common across most erotic literature sites. Of course, incest isn't the only way to be taboo. Breaking certian social constructs is also taboo, just ask SexySecretary . Impregnation themes, especially if the character wasn't intended to be impregnated (cheating housewives, incest, work, clergy even? hey...) are incredibly exciting too.

Anyway, thats just my two cents. As you can see by my number of posts, I'm a newbie around here. I've been reading the stories since January I think (WhiteShadow & BlackSpectre long before then), so I probably don't qualify as the experienced literotica member.

My Favorite Erotic Story...

...is not posted on Literotica.

It is in a book called: 'Secrets - The Best in Women's Sensual Fiction' Volumes 3.

The story is called 'Blood & Kisses' by Angela Knight.

The tale is a Vampire Romance & Sci-Fi (of all things). It opens with an out-of-work mercenary soldier hunting through the local bars for a specific vampire to help protect her from the attack of a different vampire that's been hired to kill her.

Excerpt - opening paragraph.

Her neck burned as though venom pumped through her blood. Beryl St. Cloud reached up and gingerly touched the wound, resisting the urge to scratch. It had finally stopped bleeding, but that bastard Tagliar would sink his fangs into her again if she wasn't damned lucky.

You mention both hot action and good writing. It's true that not many authors have both, but here are some worthy titles on Lit.

What I find hot about these stories is that the characters find themselves in highly tempting sexual situations that they would normally say "No" to, but they have reached a point where they are too sexually stimulated to do so. Later, they often react with regret, but are still tempted to go again because the sex was simply too good.

I'm happy to endorse the previous suggestions, and would add almost anything by cockatoo, particularly

and Strap on Something New if, like me, you enjoy a bit of humor and sci-fi mixed in with your sex.
I also found CreamyLady's Still Life with Teeth unforgettable. I still can't get the last line out of my head.

I'm not an author, but I still enjoy Dixon Carter Lee's "Teaching Patti" and "Jazzy Girl". Great writing there. There's a Mike Tauron story called "Lunch With Rita" that's enjoyable. "Nicola" by Duff is IMHO one of the most erotic bits of incest fiction on the site.

As for newer stories/authors, there's a new author named Starlight whose work I've been wild for. He's 72 years old and writing erotica - for real! I liked that Cockatoo story Frederick Carol mentioned as well. Thesandman's "Gotcha!" is one that stands out in my mind as a good recent bit of fiction. Nessus' stories are well-written and spicy. Dafney Dewitt writes really biting, vicious stories - she's proof that women can edgier stuff than descriptions of roses and bubble baths.

There are so many good stories and so many talented writers. I get four or five story submissions a week that impress the hell out of me.
