What's BVD?

"BVD" according to legend stands for "boy's ventilated diapers," reflecting the (innovative?) inclusion of a frontal access opening. (My understanding is that the letters are really just the initials of the company name, which is probably something completely forgettable; I may have known it once.)

To further rescue the tortured pun I was making, another term for men's underwear is "briefs," which happens to share its root with "brevity."

It seemed funny at the time.

I must have a nipple fetish.

Yes, I see a trend in my own stories here. Seems all my characters have a pair.

I was just thinking the other day about my writing along these lines. Many of my male characters tend to wear glasses or be somewhat geeky or nerdy or also be self-conscious. Some of my male character descriptions are based on my looks and every story has at least one character whose look is based on someone I know.

My stories as a group deal with some form of forbidden relationships. That includes incest to cheating spouses. I'm not sure why I'm so focussed on the forbidden -- maybe its a reaction to my rather normal, staid life.

Still does. :D

Right now, my most consistant motif is an utter lack of ability to write anything...

Welcome to the club.

I just noticed yesterday that both of my Valentine's entries feature the line, "You're such a fucking tease." :D

Woman on top is my position of choice:

Another Lonely Christmas
Be Mine
Fire & Ice (In the works)
Kabbazah (In the works)
The Taste of Mint, The Taste of You

Rare exceptions:

An Erotic Bouquet
Touch Me, Baby

Besides being extremely smutty, most of my stories have something in common. Except for the gay male stories, they almost all include eating pussy, because that is a thing I love so much. Even those featuring a TS include analingus, as the equivalent. Condoms are almost always used and everybody has a good time. I don't write unhappy endings, with the one exception of my Halloween story.

Inspired by the "Trivia" section of any film listed on the IMDb (The International Movie Database), where there's the occasional listing of a director's trademark. For example: Tim Burton's movies usually have an eye-popping scene ( ), Spielberg always uses John Williams' scores, etc.

As a Lit author, what are your trademarks?

Almost every male character will have some trait that belonged to either Micah or Shaun. It's my tip of the hat to them for everything they taught me and I loved about them.

Almost every female character is a facet of my character (yes, I am "multi-faceted" which is a polite way of saying that I have some many different personalities Sybil couldn't keep up). For better or worse, lol.

I tend to write one of two things- moody supernatural laced smut or cute, fluffy crap. I don't do fluff well, and my ratings reflect it.

Suicide, murder, magic, mayhem and angst run rampant through my work. The things that make or break us, I've noticed, tend to filter what we write, as authors.

I write a lot of polyamory. Not having sex with a lot of people, usually, but loving a lot of people.

If there's a family unit in a story, they swing between squabbling and sarcastic sniping to constant, affectionate touching. Sometimes at the same time. If you ever want to know what my childhood and family life are like, well, read the stories where there's lots of people, not just a couple working through a scene.

My female heroines always have some element of mothering to them. Except Andariel, who no one has seen in a story yet.

There's usually at least one bastard in my stories. The guy everyone loves to hate, because he's an utter prick.

I write more scenes at night or twilight than during the day.

If the weather's mentioned, the wind is blowing. Usually because there's a storm rolling in.

I will ALWAYS use too much descriiption in anything angsty. I think Butterfly Wings was the exception to the rule.

YES! My very best writing is done during the nighttime hours. After midnight, I am in the zone. :D

I try to use something Lacy Red And silk in every one of my stories.

I just realized that a high percentage of my females are dark-haired, blue eyes, pale skinned women who are tall and willowy.

Complete switch from my short, blond, freckly, green-eyed self. I have the willowy part though... although in the real world it's just called bony.

I think my heroines would throw rocks at yours. :D

I would have to say none of the above. For me it has to be unusual and different in some way or another, whether that involves magic or some other twist I never know until I start writing. I do however like my female characters to come across as appealing, mainly for the readers sake. I mean you could hardly write a good erotic story if you stressed early on that he/she was ugly, unless you were going for the sympathy vote. Or you were writing a beauty and the beast type tale.

Over all though, I look for the twist and let my imagination take over.

Works for me. I don't start a story thinking "What am I going to put in this one?" All of the trademarks I've posted so far were things that I noticed after the fact.

As for hair, I see my heroines with shoulder-length hair in my mind's eye (maybe because that's how mine used to be before I had it cut short).

I've noticed that I like to put in a little backstory and emotion before getting to the sex. For the "stroke" pieces, I mean.

1. Too many of my women are idealized; Victoria Secret models meet SI Swimsuit modesl.

2. Often the guy wonders if it is "okay" to cum in her mouth

3. Experienced, kind girl and inexperienced, somewhat geeky guy

4. Often, a surprise ending

Isn't it great when you're writing and like midway you suddenly decide to change things around and you wind up with something completely different than what you started out with? *gasps for breath* :D
