I know I'm probably teaching my grandmother to suck eggs, but you can't be too careful nowdays.
I recently published my first story on Literotica, and received a number of emailed responses.
Two of them contained the WORM_BADTRANS.B worm in an attachment to the emails.
This worm will infect your system automatically, via a security flaw in Internet Explorer and will contact the net automatically when you connect, leaving your machine open to access.
The attachments are called "card.doc.pif" and "Humour.mp3.pif"
As I said, this was my first story post, and I've never heard of or from these two guys, so there's no chance this was a random act.
They were both headed Re: the story title, and contained nothing but the attachments.

So, to you two guys: calling yourselves Julius Esmon and Ron Smith, try harder guys, a well configured virus checker will pick them up before they even make it to my hardrive, and the file extensions are the most warned about on the net.

And as for your closed minds, if you're retaliating for some sort of fundamentalist censorship reason, if you don't like it, try that little X thing up in the top right hand corner of your screen.....best censorship tool I ever found

eemmm just to add, if ur pcs infected with this one it mails itself
to previous people in ur address book,
so the people who sent it may have only done so unintentionally,
if they themselves had sent you stuff in the past and then
got infected.

Also the attachment that wymm comes with is random :-(

thanks littleroundman

I run a good antivirus program as well.
I did read recently that a good thing to do to your address book is place an invalid address in the number one spot on your address book.
That way if you ever get one of the virus programs that do a mass mailing to the people in your address book you will get an error message for invalid address and can stop it.
I put 10000 in as a contact person and email address and it seems like it will work.
