Hi James. Hope you find a crowd to knock around with there.

I'm an ex-pat Brisso. Folks still there. Don't get back often enough.

Hey Trisky

How's your weekend?

Hey, Ginge!

Worked really late last night and got a hell of a fright! Something was scratching and gnawing in the corner. So I scarpered! FAST!

It was NOT a mouse.

So my day off wasn't. went in early to clean up what I left when I ran. And at the end of the day when I could get the blokes to help me shift the big doors stored in that corner and get a squiz.

Holy Cow! It's a chocoholic RAT. We were given a big basket of Easter eggs (yeah, I know, it's a regional thing ) and this bloody rodent had climbed onto the table to steal the small solid ones. 7 times!!! Great flicking bites out of them all but not one finished. (....knew a bloke like that once.... ;) )

So all food is away and a very special snack has been left for it.

I've got the heebies, coz the bloody thing was doing all of this WHILE I WAS THERE!!

So, my day off tomorrow will start with a snack check. The flick man was there on Fri, too. The baits they leave are in stations too small for this critter. Grrrr!!!!!

Other than that, I did get to cook one dish and read a bit. Not all was lost. :D

How did yours go?

I hope our Mexicans are all ok. :rose:

Mr Elf? Ms Wind? Deej?

Hope you're all safe and dry.

Just one night of record rain....it was the thunder that raised the roof - or should I say the cat, she was somewhat startled by the close proximity of one particular thunder clap which was so percussive, it set of the car alarm on the BMW next door.

So pretty well safe and dry....thanks, Trisk.

:rose:

Crap! I'm with the cat! I HATE thunder. Feeds my whimpy side.

Last time one was so close here, it hit the house 2 doors up. Blew all the electricals and left a huge black mark on the fascia.

I'm glad you're ok. :rose:

Still have you in my thoughts for my next tri to Melbourne. Can't get away long enough with this new job, yet.

Hi, Sam. Welcome to the thread. :rose:

Soccer, the only true football. ;)

Soccer is a real social event here. Every sat morning in Autumn/winter. Everyone is down there (except me and others at work :() 98% kids play, even from out bush. Everyone gets cheered, even the opposition. Intense parents get chill pills. Y'see people that you haven't caught up with since last soccer season.

League is Friday nights. Union Sunday. My son plays Aussie rules in the big smoke on Saturday afternoons. No AFL here, unfortunately.:(

And that sort of eventful I can do without!

Don't follow any particular team, except the socceroos, of course. Just like a good game and loathe hooliganism shown by one eyed fools.

My son is 110% Man United.

No local AFL team. Went to every Swannies game I could when I lived in Sydney. The outlaw (ex-MIL) is a WAussie. So following the Eagles was mandatory. But at heart I'm a St Kilda tragic.

I hope the Socceroos qualify for the World Cup next year!!!! The likes of Cahill, Kewell, Viduka and Schwarzer are/were superb players.

Man Utd.......poor lad!!!! :(

I might sign up for a Season Pass next year for The Dockers. I've been lucky enough to go to a couple of brilliant games against Collingwood and Richmond at Subiaco. Going to see them slay the Lions on June 15rh :D
