Just popping in to say Happy Easter everyone (or Passover - or long weekend....whatever you're celebrating!!)

Got blindsided by a dishonest act by someone I would never have suspected of it. Hit me quite hard, but I'm over it now. Lesson learned.
I worked in the entertainment industry for a while. Management skittles is tame compaired to some (not all) in that mob. Still do the odd thing here and there, but by invitation only and if i feel like it.

Hey there, Mr Elf!

NSW didn't get the holiday that you and the ACT got. We just got the tourists and a great day of sales for my little store.

I think it's very shameful that most of Aus doesn't realise it was Canberras' 100th Birthday last weekend. It doesn't matter if you agree with our pollies over every/anything. They (and our vote) are essential to the way of life we have. We're not like Afganstan, Somalia, Fiji etc, because we have this system, combined with our legal system. Canberra holds so much of the history and artifacts of how we came to be, good and bad. The national institutions are world class. I've worked all over Aus and it's a pretty good city. Certainly worth our pride as a nations capital. The nation looks after the parliamentary triangle, no more. The rest of Canberra pays for itself. It's an expensive place to live. If it was the US there'd be bands breakin out - not that I would suggest such a thing. (Okay. Rant over.)

There's a pine plantation near my old property. it has old pines with branches way down low. In the middle of the hottest day you can sit under those trees and it's cool as. Natures aircon. :) I've been watching your record breaking hot spell. Hope you're all coping ok down there. And, yeah, work can be good for something. :D

Those shopping centres will lose out to those who aren't so stingy. And why didn't they get solar cells when the rebates were at their height. 99% of the businesses here did, and they don't have the money this lot do. They're all very glad they did. It's paying them back atm.

Yes Canberra is a tidy little town, huge roundabouts and a peak hour that lasts less than 15mins. Didn't like the fact I was charged in most supermarket car parks though. Free parking on a Sunday and Saturday afternoon, mainly because the the only thing open is the movies, a bar or two and casino. Like living in an country town with all the amenities of a big city.

Well I'm hoping our record breaking heat waves stop waving. Had enough. So damn warm just before Easter. Much cooler now. Nice to get some rain as well. All we need now is to return to normal time. Its so dark in the morning now, feels like I'm going to work at night.

I'm so glad to be out of that shit hole hospital & with BANDIT's:heart: love & care everything is now looking good for me, all infection gone, cancer gone, no chemo needed so it's just getting life back on track after going in weighing 85 KG I'm now 77 KG but with a lot of muscle wastage, I'm eating right & able to get around easier without all the pain of dealing with idiot doctors treating me for different things, playing around with my meds & generally geting the worst possible, I can't believe so many doctors treating me for different things don't bother talking to each other for the patients best recovery.

The poor nurses have to deal with so many patients it takes at least 15 minutes for the assigned nurse to turn up because she was with patients at the other end of the ward & the doctors all treat you like your an idiot who knows nothing about your own health.

My federal MP, state MP & the local paper all got a lengthy letter of complaint about the poor treatment of patients by so called doctors I think I'd rather be treated by the local vet with the only doctor I trust being my renal doctor, I was being treated by cardiac, colorectal, diabetic & renal & NOT ONE LOT TALKS TO THE OTHERS for the paatients best recovery.

Because of an influx of renal patient from another hospital so it can get a new paint job they expected me to have a 2 day break then 5 hours stripping fluid out of me at maxium speed leaves me wiped out then wanted me to have another 2 day break so only 1 session in 5 days so with steam comming out my ears & all the tobes taken out I had my last drip of antibiotics & told all I was going home to get some proper dialysis, nice low speed & rate over longer hours in a comfy bed & my wonderful BANDIT:heart: has me fitter & more agile than at the hospital just working on getting my lost muscle, eating food that dosen't taste like shit, they csn't even make porridge right.

I've posted many times how wonderful BANDIT:heart: is & her loving care has me well on the way to a full recovery.

Hey Gil,

Good to see you are getting better. Yes the health care system can't cope, then again it struggles in most countries. No fan of hospitals either. Seen too many over the years attending to family members. The nurses do a fantastic job considering what they have to put up with.

Anyway I hope you keep gettting stronger.

Afternoon all,

Welcome to all the new people, whether citizens or not although we don't use that term. Just put your beer in the esky.

Well footy is back in Melbourne town for another season, we won't count that other week with no footy in Melbourne. Rematch of the grand final teams today so that will be worth watching even though neither are my team.

Hope Easter has gone well for all. I've only had one Easter egg and only a couple of hot cross buns at work last week. Believe it not I couldn't find any at the supermarket when I went shopping in the evening before Good Friday. People were buying things out like getting ready for a natural disaster. The shops were only closed for one day. This whole sell them the same day you make 'em stuff means unless you get there early, you go without. Rather stupid since it will send shoppers elsewhere.

Spent time in the garden hacking or should I say trimming stuff and dodging the showers. I can now at least get the car down the driveway without catching a mirror on some branches. All this heat has given everything in the garden a growth spurt. More hacking to come in the next few weeks.

Hi everyone

Just thought i would drop in to have a look around as i havent been in here for years, and also say Hi... hope everyone are well, and enjoying this extra long weekend for easter if your in OZ

take care and i wil be back .. :)

Afternoon all,

For those suffering with daylight savings...its all gone now and we won't have to wake up in the dark...well at least for a couple of months before winter kicks in. And what did I do with that extra hour...I'm doing it.

Finally got my hands on some hot cross buns and bought some Easter eggs...at half price.

Footy is properly back and my team has won its first two games which is a good start.

Garden has been hacked, more hacking required but at least I can get the car down the driveway without getting caught up in the foliage. Hard to see the smaller branches in the dark. Quite nice weather all of last week and more of the same this week.

Hope your weekend is relaxing before the work week starts again tomorrow.

When was the last time you were in Canberra Mr Elf? Everything is open on weekends. The eldest cherub found a great Sushi Bar, recently. If the libs get in they'll ransack it, anyway. Last time they caused a depression there that took years to repair. The flow on to surrounding towns in NSW was catastrophic. The blue faces are people holding their breath. The only city in the country that's a political football. People from all over the country send their pollies there and then make out it's 'Canberra's fault'. Like the ordinary Canberra Joe even gets to see a pollie. Don't get it.

Your weather's been behaving, hasn't it? I'm just glad the weather's been mild this month. Beautiful.

I like Daylight Saving! Am I the only one? Although it's much easier now the cherubs are older.

I just finished my last Easter Egg. Need more chocky........ ;)
Oh, and only the best Bilbies are ginger. :D

My youngest cherub started his first AFL season this year. He's played all the other codes and is now pleasing his mother :) Big learning curve and he's just realising what fitness really means  Still, he has the build and he's keen. As long as it's fun.

I need a hacker in my yard! Been so busy that it's neglected. It's roll up the sleeves and start anywhere this weekend.

Hope you can just sit and relax in yours, now it's all done.

I was in Canberra on the weekend just gone - attended the AWM open day
great day .... until the rain came down lol

Didn't know there was an open day. :( But probably couldn't have gone anyway. Too much on my plate atm.

I do go there fairly regularly, to see new exhibits. Best one was some time back. A 'nam one. Had choppers and camo nets, and a recording playing. Was real enough to shake up my father-in-law very badly. Made my hair stand on end and my skin goosebump.
