I'm more of the two wheeled machinery :D

Nothing like having raw power between your legs ;)

Oh, I don't mind bikes. But I'm more of an off-road girl - my last bike (before losing my lisence for life, which I can now get back because it's been well over ten years) was an XT 550.

I've never been off roading........must give it a try one day :D

I was almost off-roading yesterday.
Was driving my XD, towing a car trailer with the XC ute on it, and came up over a rise in the road to find a line of stopped traffic directly in front of me.
For a split second, I didn't think I was going to be able to stop and considered turning off into the onion field beside the road!
Hairy stuff

Please don't do the count down....depressing enough that the year is almost two months gone.

Though it does bring me closer to England. Off there for a Research project to live in Newcastle for one month, then a little travel. Moon does England and Europe...so to speak. ;)

Wet Eflie:kiss: Damn and I'm not in Melbourne to help blow you dry. Shall I just purse my lips and see if I can reach from here?

Luckily since the horrid floods and 125km winds of two weeks ago, the weather has become more pleasant. Still thinking that New Zealand is the place to live..........just can't stand this heat any longer.

Do try and stay dry Elfie:kiss: lad. But if not, remember I am more than willing to participate in the wetting you down in more delightfilled ways.

A big Hello to all the other Aussies out there. Hope that you Aall enjoy a wickedly relaxing weekend. Keep cool wherever you may be.

:kiss:MsMoon:kiss:

Hey Ms Moon

Time is something nobody can stop and the good thing is the annoying stuff moves to the past and we move on. I can't wait for the year to be over. One year closer to my goal.

Never been to Newcastle in the UK but seen it on a doco a few years ago. Even in the Summer the place is cold, so different to Brisbane so rug up.

Now Ms Moon your version of a blow dry would have the opposite effect and if your lips can reach that far, you should give up your day job...you have another career waiting for you :D

Well if you don't like heat then don't come anywhere near Melbourne town for another week at least. We are in the middle of a record breaking hot spell. Going for the record of more than 7 days above 30 in March. No cool change till Thursday, so they say. We've even been consistently warmer than Brisbane this past week. Air con on every night after I get home from work. That dry heat really saps the strength.

Hope the rain in the North lets up. I have some friends in Toowoomba and Gympie that have been getting lots of rain.

Stay dry on the outside:kiss:

Greetings :)

Karratha is a shithole. Definitely NOT recommended.
I went back 5 yrs ago, and couldn't believe how much the place had changed - for the worse.
(I also got a shock when the local police sargeant recognised me! But that's a whole other story.... ;))
There are much, MUCH nicer places to visit!

That's the way to advertise the place WQ..."Come to Australia...we'll tell you where the shithole places are..oh by the way did you know we have wildilfe that is the deadlist in the world and don't go swimming in the sea in the north of the country during summer, you're likely to be eaten or stung"

At least the flies are friendly in Karratha..'.in order for one to appreaciate the good you should first experience the bad'..."ok somebody needs to chant about now"

Do people still drink VB? (To answer your question.. TOO MUCH!)

Wash your mouth out with a Pure Blonde. Of course people stil drink it just not as much due to all the other beers on offer. More at sporting venues these days.

Could do with a cold beer right now. Hope you're keeping cool in all this heat.

Today is a'me' day...... I am getting a haircut and a wax.
I don't do valentines day - if my guy has to be reminded to tell me he loves me on a particular day, then I don't want to hear it.
Tell me you love me, on any other day, for no reason whatsoever, and then I'll appreciate it!

I remember the days when "getting a wax" meant the car.

These last two posts on BANDIT's:heart: were me although all the typos should show it was me.:rolleyes:

Hey Gil,

I see they haven't got any meds for spelling :D. Good to see you posting again. Hope you are on the otherside of the medical stuff.

It seems that I am a terrible judge of character. :(

I'm not sure how to fix that one. I really can't see myself living the life of a cynic for the rest of my life. I'm not sure that I want to, either.

It helps to be a little cynical in this world, especially in the business world where its all about the individual. They laughingly still want team work at management when all the while everyone is out to cut the other guy's path to a career.

I see you've let your furry animal out............as well as the bilby

What's happening is the pseudo-V8's.
It is not the same :-(

Yep that totally threw me also. Couldn't understand how Stoner got a ride so quickly then worked out that it wasn't the real V8 race, which then made sense but then didn't get what was the purpose of this other race. Sounds more like a hand me down race to support the proper one.

Yeah that was close...nobody wants to see hairy onions

Afternoon all,

Hope the public holiday is going down well. Still hot in Melbourne town and yes not the heat wave they had in Perth and not as hot as in Adelaide, but for Melbourne this is just crazy weather. No rain, no cool breezes very warm nights and hot dry days for at least another couple of days, that's nine days in a row above 30 in March. Breaking all the records since records were first kept.

Power companies and general goods stores are loving it. Everyone is using air cons and buying more fans and coolers for the house. One of the few times I'd rather be at work using their air con.

And what is with these shopping centres not turning up the air con to save dollars. Arseholes....since most people are in there to keep cool and whilst there might go shopping. Makes not sense. I thought the idea was to keep the customer in the stores.

I bet you were shaking for a bit.....similar thing happened to me last week. I was queuing in traffic, when I look in my mirror to see a Ute SS skidding toward me.....if he hadn't swerved to the left, I would have been sitting on the bonnet of my car!!!

Evening all from Perth
Originally from Melbourne who would have thought its warmer there than here

Hope everyone well and chillin

Got blindsided by a dishonest act by someone I would never have suspected of it. Hit me quite hard, but I'm over it now. Lesson learned.
I worked in the entertainment industry for a while. Management skittles is tame compaired to some (not all) in that mob. Still do the odd thing here and there, but by invitation only and if i feel like it.

Hey there, Mr Elf!

NSW didn't get the holiday that you and the ACT got. We just got the tourists and a great day of sales for my little store.

I think it's very shameful that most of Aus doesn't realise it was Canberras' 100th Birthday last weekend. It doesn't matter if you agree with our pollies over every/anything. They (and our vote) are essential to the way of life we have. We're not like Afganstan, Somalia, Fiji etc, because we have this system, combined with our legal system. Canberra holds so much of the history and artifacts of how we came to be, good and bad. The national institutions are world class. I've worked all over Aus and it's a pretty good city. Certainly worth our pride as a nations capital. The nation looks after the parliamentary triangle, no more. The rest of Canberra pays for itself. It's an expensive place to live. If it was the US there'd be bands breakin out - not that I would suggest such a thing. (Okay. Rant over.)

There's a pine plantation near my old property. it has old pines with branches way down low. In the middle of the hottest day you can sit under those trees and it's cool as. Natures aircon. :) I've been watching your record breaking hot spell. Hope you're all coping ok down there. And, yeah, work can be good for something. :D

Those shopping centres will lose out to those who aren't so stingy. And why didn't they get solar cells when the rebates were at their height. 99% of the businesses here did, and they don't have the money this lot do. They're all very glad they did. It's paying them back atm.

Is there anyone from Mandurah in WA? would like to make new friends over here?:)

Hi there, Milky and KJ. Welcome to the thread. :)

My memories of Perth are of friendly folk.

We're chillin, here. Temp dropped 10 deg from yesterday. A little cool now. The yoyo keeps goin, tho. Hotter through next week.

Hope you connect with nice people over there, KJ. :)

Hey Gil! :D

Now you're out of hospital I hope you get your cheeky butt back on this thread!!! ;) :D :D

Hope all is going well for you both.

Bandit, I hope you can relax, now. :) :rose:
