Seen a few people go into politics with a fire in their belly, ready to fight and make things right. Seen them beaten down by the party system. Not just one party, either. Giving a maiden speech and then silent, only speaking when 'allowed'. Unity above conscience.

The Democrats tried something different but the members went to mob mentality and ate their own young. The major parties and the Greens are full of members who don't even know what's in their manifesto.

Things can look fantastic on paper. Then people step in and screw it up. It's just the way we are when more than 3 people have an opinion.

If things were truly representative, we'd have 50/50 men/women, a bigger mix of ethnicities and religions. That just ain't gonna happen.

That's nearly half what we paid for the car!!!

School goes back tomorrow for the kidley bean.. Yay!
I get to have some time during the days to myself again

Except tomorrow I need to spend the day grocery shopping - my cupboards are bare and my freezer needs restocking.

I get to have some time during the days to myself again

Except tomorrow I need to spend the day grocery shopping - my cupboards are bare and my freezer needs restocking.

MMMMM. I DO remember the power at full throat. Still have this thing about going up steep inclines.

Yeah, Had a lovely V Day. Even though I was home with a rotten stomach. Don't do the commercialised side of things. Refuse to. But it's nice to feel appreciated and nice to have a reason to blurt mushy things to people that matter. It all means squat if you're a shit the rest of the year, though, doesn't it.

Same for mothers day and fathers day. No commercialised guff. They're more significant to the cherubs with their parents apart, though. They've always made stuff. I've got them all. Love them, too.

It works out about the same, with freight and then getting someone to fit it.
I would do it myself, but I'm banned from doing anything heavier than lifting a cup with my right arm for the next 3 months - and the man is away atm.

WQ, good training for the oldest child & radiatiors are an easy fit & even though your banned you could supervise. My daughter used to "help" me with my race car & motorbike passing tools & she knew what was what at age 10, she loved it too.

The unfortunate fact is that St Valentines Day wouldn't be the commercial farce it is today if we didn't 'buy' into it! Valentines Day became associated with love through poetry. It became a day when a young fella could let a lady know he was interested.

It's only recently that it's got so out of hand. To the point where that woman in the US attacked her bf with a knife coz he never got her a present!!

I'm with you, Gil. Love and respect is an everyday thing. If you can only find it on a designated day it ain't worth the trouble.
