Hi Orlanth, I don't think they're buying your innocence, I know you're less corrupted than some in this thread so I'll vouch for you!

Busy but good, how about yourself?

It's been really scary here, tonight. Huge storms rolling in one after the other. Big winds, huge hail. A massive clap of thunder directly overhead nearly made me break off all my teeth. I love storms but these are something else. Thank goodness my laptop was fully charged - we lost power!

Oh, shit it's starting again. Gotta go.

Not fun - just got back from a doctor's appt for no1son.
Seems he's relapsed, and now needs to take some pretty heavy duty meds again.
*sigh*

Good Morning, all!!

The storms 2 nights ago have left their mark. My back door was blown off and the putty rattled off a few windows. I thought they were going to break from the hail but putty off is much better! :D

The thunder that scared the living c**p outta me was lightning hitting the neighbours house 2 doors down. The fascia boards where the powerlines enter their house are burned and their fuse box blown. They're just getting power back as I type this. The power company rep said they were very lucky the whole house didn't go up.

The river is flooded and all the creeks, too. So a few people couldn't get to work but they're going down, too, now - the waterways not the people! lol

I've enjoyed living on my own for the first time ever. It's been fun working out what I like for a change. But I was terrified during that storm (and I wasn't the only one) and would have been grateful for company.

Hope your son is recovering, WQ. :rose:

He will recover somewhat over time - but his condition is for life, so he will relapse periodically.
After the last time, we were hoping he'd get at least a couple of years without having to take the stronger meds, but sadly it has only been 12 months.
The medication knocks him around a bit :(
On the bright side, at least his condition is not fatal.

In order -

Good to hear you didn't get more damage.
Welcome to my world of flooding and being trapped!
Bad that you were afraid during the storm :(
Perhaps you need a bad-weather-buddy who can come stay when the weather turns nasty?

It's good that your sons' condition will improve over time but it sucks that it's a chronic condition.
Did something trigger the relapse that he can avoid in future?? I can commiserate about the side effects of his meds. Sometimes it seems a rough deal.

There's always a bright side. :) It's just hard to remember that sometimes.

I hope his spirits are up and he's positive. :rose:

Been looking at replacement doors - what a crock! I'll check recycling centres next week. Great timing with rego due and less pay coz i was sick.

I remember you saying you were flooded in a little while back. I'm Ok except the trip to Canberra to see the cherubs was heaps longer coz I had to go the long way around. Some friends were stuck for a while. Everything's going back to normal now.

I usually like storms, being a Brisbane girl, but these storm cells were wicked! So loud for so long and the hail was coming in sideways. The huge clap of thunder that had my fingermails in the ceilling was the worst. The lightning with it had hit my neighbour 2 doors down and burned their house where the powerline came in and totaled their fuse box. They're a little shell shocked.

My neighbour was by herself, too. By the time the storms had started we couldn't even walk that far. We've been talking about emergencies today so should come up with something OK. She's our new paramedic, so she's a handy neighbour to have! ;)

I guess it's already Saturday for most of you since you all choose to hang out below the border. Hope the weekend is less stressful for those who've had a rough week.

Hi Kisses! :D

Not all of us are mexicans! Mind you, I defected quite a few years ago, now.

We're quite soggy here, still, but the sun is bright and cheery. The only headaches now are from Christmas party hangovers! lol

Hope your weekend is in good shape. :rose:
