How's stuff?

Stuff is okay. Got a couple of nibbles on the dating sites so far. Have a day off work tomorrow. My camera probably needs a tune up (must not look guilty to keep the warranty in place lol). And I probably didn't need to see a workmate's facebook entry that he was waxed and smooth.

Must get enthused about the art side of things again, well at least the lit thread bit...

Evening all. I'm feeling rather mixed tonight. I have just done the final inspection for my big purchase. On Thursday it will all be official - I'll own the villa. I just met the girl (younger than me - I'm 29) renting it. She's a single mother and complained about the rent which she is currently paying - which is about $100 under market value. If I wasn't so jealous of her, I'd feel pity. But the fact is she has a baby, she doesn't work. I work- I have always worked, and worked hard - I want a baby, but it's on hold until a)I find the right guy and b)I'm financially set up.
So while I hate the idea of pushing someone out of their home, I'm putting the rent up next month. With two mortagages I can't afford to be 'too nice'. She admitted that her mother has started looking at other properties for her, so I guess she's aware that the rent was likely to go up anyway.

It doesn't stop me from feeling bad.

On a happier note, I was selected as "member of the month" on one of my games. So geeky, but made me smile.

I hope everyone's week has started well.

I can understand you need to cover your expenses but just because she is a single mother with a baby doesnt mean she hasnt worked in the past and wont in the future. It could be she was in a relationship and the father walked out.. it happens.

Oh I know - and one of my best friends was/is a single mother. I guess I'm most upset because the first thing she did was complain - I thought she would be happy that I wasn't kicking her out. Plus all the stress with work and my own finances at the moment, the last thing I want to worry about is someone elses (who I don't know from a bar of soap) finances.
The straw that broke the camels back. And now all I want to do is cry.
