Our rent has just gone up by $50/week - had to take a letter to Centrelink today to get more rent assistance, of which the co-op will take THE LOT!
I thought rent assistance was to ASSIST you in paying your rent, not for the landlord to take as well as the 25% of our income

Aussies might soon not be able to visit Literotica anymore!

Hi, I just joined to post this because I'm trying to get the word out to fellow Aussies about what our government is doing behind our backs. I have often come to Literotica to read and I want to be able to keep doing that in the future!

Just the thought of Internet censorship is making me mad. The Australian Federal Government is pushing forward with a plan to force ISPs to censor the Internet for all Australians.

This is but a small exerpt and which has had bloggers buzzing, from what I have been reading online recently

Filtering will be mandatory in all homes and schools across the country
The clean-feed for children will be opt-out, but a second filter will be mandatory for all Internet users
Filtering will be compulsory in all homes, even where there are no children.
A filter will slow Internet access down by up to 80% according to a Government report
The filtering will target legal as well as illegal material
Even the most accurate software the Government has tested would incorrectly block 10,000 sites in every million.

Do we really want Government deciding what Australian adults can and can't see? Do we want Australia to join a censorship club in which Burma, China and North Korea are the founding members?

c'mon guys, we need to spread the word that we don't want this! Anyone come here that has connections with any Australian media? Hope this post gets read, cheers
Jason

Hi Aussies, just poking my head in for a quick hello.

Hope everyone is well.

Oh I know - and one of my best friends was/is a single mother. I guess I'm most upset because the first thing she did was complain - I thought she would be happy that I wasn't kicking her out. Plus all the stress with work and my own finances at the moment, the last thing I want to worry about is someone elses (who I don't know from a bar of soap) finances.
The straw that broke the camels back. And now all I want to do is cry.

Hey Pert ,

You stick to your guns and dont feel bad at all , your the one trying to make something special happen in your life by making a huge committment to your future. So big hugs ok.

I am sure all the things you want in your life will come for you , just remember a jobs just that , a job not a lifes path , so when things at work get you down just smile and have a nice place to go to in your mind. Lol works for me anyhow.;)

Colour me cynical Jason, but your post reads very much like a political statement.

Having said that, I've learnt to always look for a hidden agenda in anything, and with this proposed legislation I think a reminder just of who are Australia's biggest trading partners will perhaps explain our governments true interest in the change.

Pardon? What colour is your cynical?

Maybe I should have put quotes around what is straight from the studies - that's not my writing!
Mine is "Hi, I just joined to post this because I'm trying to get the word out to fellow Aussies about what our government is doing behind our backs. I have often come to Literotica to read and I want to be able to keep doing that in the future! all the rest is quoted.

I hope you don't own a website or an internet business that inadvertantly gets banned by the government 'word checkers' . . heaven forbid if you were a doctor, a vet or a nurse or perhaps had a psychology practice or a teacher or perhaps a personal trainer who explains exercises. What about breastfeeding and mothers forums that mention birth? That will be banned. They are going to ban annorexia and all sorts of sites. Inclusing the 10,000 that have already happened in their trials that will have to be applied for release. Won't be able to buy your sexy toys online no more either ;) All sorts of retailers will be effected.

I don't want to live under communism law disguised as democracy, so yeah, I guess it is a political statement too then sheeeeeshhhh

You can keep it, and I'll have the tim tams! I hate cherries :p

You hate cherries  What even the glazed ones?

Actually I'm quite sure a guy couldn't say that...."I hate cherries"...just doesn't sound right some how...can't seem to put my finger on it..but it just sounds wrong

Found some choc butternut snaps on a shopping expedition...had to go back and buy another packet. I call them shopping expeditions because by the time you find everything you want by going up and down the same isle several times, and read all the damn labels, cause you are told you should by all those people who want you to stay alive long enough to keep paying taxes even when you eventually die, you finally get everything and then get to the check out just as they close it down, cause one of them wants to take a break, you get to the car (assuming you can remember where you parked it) only to find some dummy has has parked so close to your car you can't get the driver's door open.

Bought some new flavour of tim tams the other week for a morning tea, but they were smaller than the normal ones, I guess Mocha meant something else besides the name of the flavour....

Interesting piece then. Like mango myself but I like all fruit except bananas.

Enjoy your dinner.

Yep it is. I took a while to decide on it.

OK so how come no av, just when I was getting used to it.
