Jack won the '54 REDeX ( to give it the correct spelling)in a '48 Ford: Ken Tubman won the '53 in a Peugeot and Peugeots won again in '55 (the last REDeX) but were relegated when the Volkswagen protest was upheld.

In 1956 the first of the Ampol Trials was held, Peugeot won that with the new 403s

heheheheh . . . my grandmother's best friend was in the 53 and 54 REDeX Trials . . . at the age of 63 she decided it was time to see Australia . . . so off she went in her Austin A40 convertible with two mates . . . beat Tubman back by 30 minutes but was prevented from finishing officially because she had blown a motor in Perth and lost seven days . . . then missed the check poiints because they were closed . . .

She had so much fun she went round again in 54 . . . in a BMC sponsored Austin A60 fitted out with a bed/bunk down the passenger side and the navigator sitting behind the driver. She finished this time.
