That would be a good start.........go get the dive medical as a first port of call......that way you will know whether you are actually fit to dive....lots of people aren't for the smallest of reasons....

My eldest brother was a diver... I discoverd that they check things you wouldn't have thought of...that's here anyway...things like the condition of your fillings in your teeth..... you can damage teeth if there's pockets of decay under fillings, for example.
But you should have fun......my house mate was a dive instructor and a cave diver in a former life.....he has many really great memories of his time underwater.......
