my grandfather was from tassie-his family used to farm on table cape in the north west-still do as far as i know. used to have an open fire at a place we lived-was nice if in the same room but the rest of the house was freezing-and so much work chopping wood and cleaning-i like a campfire bestbertrande said:I am a born and bred Tasmanian (with only one head I might add) and have had woodfires for many years. Most recently wood heaters of course, but when i lived with mum and dad we had lived in a one horse town in a beautiful old house. Big rooms, high ceilings etc and an open fire in the lounge room. God we used the get the room all toasty and warm.
Nothing beat a full on open fire - agreed.
