That reminds me of my youth....when you could buy fireworks, sure did need a slow fuse for some of those larger ones. Never tried setting them off a bridge, did hold them in my fingers though till they went off...kids being kids.

That is what you meant right?

Wasn't much good at running though, preferred ball sports...cricket, football. Can still whistle though.

MMM, yeah. So much more was available when I was younger. But I've noticed that while variety has calmed the selection is now a much better quality. ;)

Remember a few bungers in my time and spinners..... some fizzled and some shot skyward!!!!! Multicoloured explosions seem to come to mind......

And you toss the ball, Mr Elf. I'll concentrate on my batting skills. Never could get a handle on football skills... much better hands on......

Something tells me that purity test score was rigged :D You sure you didn't double the actual score.

Well actually quality is part of my job description.

Just remember to stroke the ball, don't go chasing it, let it cum to you.

I hope you are keeping warm on this chilly night.

ha!
flag flying is the least of my talents

(i do fly an aussie flag everywhere i live - i have one on the front patio atm, right next to the [slightly larger] ford flag!)

Hey WQ,

Yep I kinda guessed you have many talents. I can see one of them from here :D

Must be chilly in Tassie today, we had only a couple of degrees here in Melbourne first thing this morning with lots of fog.

it has been a little chilly here, temps around minus 3 to 4, with tops about 10 or 11.
hopefully when the rain comes in over the next few days the weather will warm up a little.

right now my talents are all being used up keeping myself pain-free.... between the wisdom tooth, the tennis elbow and the swollen liver, i'm a bit of a wreck!
mercyndol is my friend.

Mr Elf, who do you think supplies those wee rovers with their crumbs? :)

...as much wood as a woodchuck chucks....

I had no idea Hanzel and Gretel were in the scouts...you think the Grimm Bros would of mentioned that..they must have been working on a badge...

LOL. Some of that purity test was like 'Duh, I've had children'. Other parts were: 'you can do that???' So I dunno..... :D

And I never chase the ball. That's for an outfielder. I prefer the action at slips. It's more direct and you've either got the reflex or you don't.

It's 1.7 deg here. -0.2 wind chill. Not a breeze to be had and not a crumb-bearing wanderer in sight.... better light the fire. :D

wow, and I thought my cold was a pain...hope you get better soon. Yep I like pain free. Never really suffered from aches and pains, but now it just takes longer to get better these days. That age thing again.

Sounds a bit like England...when you mentioned about it getting warmer with the rain. That's how you know its summer over there. I had first hand experience at that.

i had cortisone injections in my elbow 2 months ago, supposed to keep me pain-free for 6 months. not.
my wisdom tooth comes out on the 29 aug.... fun, fun, fun!
my liver - well, i'm a bit of a medical anomoly because all my tests are coming back fine, but there's definitely something wrong... the hepatic specialist is stumped. more tests next thursday.

*sigh* getting older sucks ass, and NOT in a good way.

i'd love to have a summer here - but it seems to pass me by.
last year we went straight from spring to autumn. no summer at all.
global warming? where?

Never taken it..do they have a negative scale?

Funny that comment about the slips, that's what I mentioned to Ms Moon...you're a lady after my own heart, I've always had very good reflexes and soft hands and their warm as well or so I'm told.

I reckon you're going to need to sit on that fire..if its that cold. I don't mind the cold, but then again I don't go running around naked in cold weather either.

 Leave naked in the cold to the Bondi Icebergers! Talk about taking the bat and ball(s) and going home! ;)

Warm hands decreaase impact injury so softness retained. :D

yeah that cortisone doesn't work for every one. Never had a wisdom tooth out. My dentist tried to take one of mine, but so far I've resisted it.

You should think of yourself as a medical rarity. I've confused a few of these medical people. You come to the realization they're just ticking of a checklist, they don't really know...in those famous words..."a process of elimination"..code for "we haven't got a clue, we're just trying stuff"

Trouble is you're too far south for global warming, they just want you guys pay the tax.

Yep, I hate when walking in to that cold water from the beach and the water hits my bat and balls....they want to return the dressing room really quick.

Even in the summer time the water is cold around our beaches. Feels like an iceberg just melted.

Evening all,

Chilly night again in Melbourne town. Suddenly got very foggy overnight. Another chilly night again, so it must be down right frosty in the outer areas.

Hope you find a way to stay warm...except for those in Qld...you guys may have to break out the long sleeves and turn the overhead fan down to low.

Just popping in to say hello and welcome to the weekend, everyone!
Hooray for Friday! :D

Hi Pert,
Nice to meet you :D

I'm afraid my weekend will be Wed/Thur but Friday is always good!

How is wonderful Perth? Last time I was there I didn't want to leave....

I think the only solution is to dive right in. Then each sensation overwhelms the other and your body's so confused it warms itself!! lol

Don't care if it's fine , wet or rainy. Love to wander the espanade at St Kilda. Best part of living there.

I know you can't take hormones, but I thank the Goddess every day for whoever invented HRT....;)

I was looking forward to menopause but not the way I got it which was surgically. the way things are now, given a choice I wouldn't mind the cramps, 5 days of being sick and wishing to die. I didn't choose this surgery, I went in for exploratory with at most maybe a mass removal but the surgeon freaked and removed everything including my cervix.

i think i would probably sue!
i researched having a hysterectomy, but the literature wasn't entirely convincing, and so i ended up speaking to two different gynaecologists - both of who advised against it. they sorta agree with ablation.... sorta.
so i put up with the crap every 3 months (i'm using HRT to control my cycle).
i can take the hormones, but because of my particular makeup, and a blood disorder, they are tailored specifically to me.
i have far too much oestrogen in my system naturally, so hopefully after menopause i won't need to take any!
but i can do without the migraines.
