WQ - I'm so sorry to hear that your poor little liver isn't coping too well. My Mum and her side of the family all have liver issues and my Dad has kidney issues. Mostly it just means regular blood tests 'monitoring things' as sometimes, it is better to keep an eye on things, rather than to actively treat. Anywho, I hope you're on the mend and feeling better soon.

Hooray for Friday!! YAY! I'm waiting for 1/2 my new kitchen to arrive today. Oven should be here before noon, my dishwasher at 3pm, and I've got to go and pick up my flue (as I have tall ceilings, I had one custom made to fit the rangehood, so that it wouldn't have a join. It only cost $150, so well worth it considering the price of the rest of the kitchen!) I'm SO excited!! Yes, I admit it, I'm a bit odd.... you should have seen me when I got my new kitchen tap!

I can understand your excitement making changes to you home although I've never owned one I do enjoy the make over shows, your idea of a seamless flue is a fantastic one.

update...

firstly - i am not in hospital (yayness!)

i am, however, a medical conundrum.
all my test results have come back within normal perameters.... liver function, normal... kidneys, normal... all other bloodwork, normal, and here's the kicker.... my white cell count is totally normal.
but, as the doc could clearly see, all my glands are swollen.
and when i say all my glands, i mean ALL of them! even the ones behind my knees!
plus, my urine is most definitely the wrong colour, my skin and eyes show slight jaundice and the ultrasound shows my liver is swollen about 5% bigger than normal.

2 specialist consults later, the concensus is put me on anti-viral medication for the next 14 days. no processed foods for the duration, and stop all vitamins and other medications.

and they've all agreed i can go on my trip!
but, i have 2 letters to take with me, and if any of a list of things happen, i must get me to the nearest hospital asap.

so basically, they have no idea what's going on apart from my entire body apparently fighting to the death against a viral infection in an abnormal way.

The standard doctor response when they have no idea whats going on "its a virus".

Hopefully the fresh air on Kangaroo island will fix you up & you can go home feeling happy & healthy :)

Home single and in bed on a Friday night

Yep

Or a sad case

Ditto...well, at least, I'm on my way to bed and it's still rather early. I need it though, I'm pooped.

So, no phone call from or sign of the dishwasher delivery guy. By the time I phoned to see where he was, they were closed, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow. I'm going to be super cross if they expect me to pay for the second delivery!
The good news is that my oven arrived and I picked up my beautiful stainless steel flue.

Great news WQ (about being able to go on your trip, not the neck like a rugby player)! I hope those drugs kick in soon.

I hope everyone is having a good start to the weekend.
G'night
:rose:

I'm sorry but where does it say that being at home in bed by yourself on a Friday night makes you a sad case? It's the bias of 9-5, Monday to Friday thinking.

Because I worked shift work for many years, including Friday nights, I had a different view of Friday nights. A lot of the time, they were work nights. Some of the time I was coming off a long stretch of mixed shifts and quite frankly I was stuffed and just needed a night in.

This may not match your experience, of course, but I guess I just feel like I need to challenge the idea that Friday night is the be all and end all of a social life, and that not being out on a Friday night or being in and alone on a Friday night makes you lame somehow. I disagree.

My comment was to lighten the mood and make fun of myself not to offend others

No, no, no!! I wasn't offended! I was defending you against yourself! Sorry, my post must have come across as so serious! I mean, I was serious, but I wasn't angry at you or anything. I was trying to get you to let your psyche cut you a little slack. Ah well. I'm still managing to stuff up when it comes to communication, even at my age. Back to kindy I go...

Oh, well if thats the case, then I'm home alone on a friday night & turn 30 this weekend, so i'm way more entitled to feel old!

Not that I do really :)

Perhaps it's me. I spent the last four or so years socially isolating myself so my social skills suck

Hahaha, now we can sit here and debate who's more socially awkward!

No, we're going to stop right there. You know, I've not met you before.

Hi Orlanth, how are you? Pleased to meet you.
