Last working day of the financial year so packed the office off to a surprise picnic. A little bit sobering to see a pile of people coming out of another building with archive boxes and being ushered into taxis, poor bastards.

Last working day of the financial year so packed the office off to a surprise picnic. A little bit sobering to see a pile of people coming out of another building with archive boxes and being ushered into taxis, poor bastards.

Yeah, that could be me in a few months! Our department will be reduced by 14% one way or another. Our reorg chart is yet to be shown to us, but my team is merging with another, so I know that at best, we'll go from 15 people to 7 or 8. I'll have a 50% chance of having a job by October. And about the same chance of getting pregnant. I feel like I'm watching my life implode in slow motion right now.

So, nothing new here really!

The good thing is the mid year school break is a good excuse for another week off...and this time there's no way I'm visiting my mother. So yay for me, a week at home with my kiddo. He's almost 6 and while I yell at him WAY too much, we have fun together. I've started lining up a few playdates for him, and all I plan to do for me is kill zombies.

Popping in to say hi. Seems like life is knocking a few of us around a bit but hopefully we're mostly doing ok and holding our own.

No idea what I'm doing anymore, so many great things going on in life at the moment but I've been dragging through the last few months trying to sort my emotions out after a long term lover moved away. Hard to explain to people why you're feeling sad when everything on the surface appears great, damn the need for secret double lives and respectability.

Luckily Mr Kiss is awesome but his response to my broken heart is to go find a new lover and fuck my sadness away... I admit it could work because a part of what I miss is the communication and fun but some people just aren't that easy to replace when they've really impacted your life. Every week gets a little bit easier so who knows maybe by Christmas I won't even miss having a special friend anymore? Either that or I'll be so horny I'll need two. Maybe I need wine?

It’s the school holidays and I’m looking after the grand kids.

Morning all,

Been up till the early hours of the morning most of the week watching the World Cup. Getting to bed as most people are getting up to go to work. With Winter here there isn't much to get up early for especially if it's cold and raining outside.

Taking my mum out for lunch for her birthday on the weekend which here in Melbourne is going to be a wet one. Was thinking of taking a drive to the country but that has been scuttled by the bad weather being predicted. Lots of wind the last couple of days which was a sign of something coming. Might even get some hail and a thunderstorm or two.

Being the new FY lots of tax stuff happening as well as those tax cuts. Good to the see the poor pollies will be several thousand dollars better off, they must be doing it tough what with their govt cars and allowances and investment properties negative geared so they pay less tax. Real Aussie battlers. Wonder if they order Uber Eats delivered by a person earning $5 per trip and no minimum wage cause they're a contractor. We should be grateful we're in the lucky country, otherwise we'd be fucked.

Wasn't aware that basket ball now incorporates boxing. Two sports for the price of the same ticket. Now that's value for money. Should watch it more often. And the Aussie cricket team found a country it could beat, go team. Now if we could only transfer the Ashes to Zimbabwe, win win.

Hope the rest of the week and weekend aren't too wet where you are. As for the cold, well according to the BOM it's going to be a warmer than normal Winter with less rain. See...global warming isn't all bad, just throw another rain forest on the fire.... toasty.
