Aussies! Check in here!

Evening all,

Well it's rather evident we are reaching the mid point of the year. Less daylight and it starts getting dark by 4:30 pm. Unless you're in the north. Heard that some people in the north were complaining that it was getting cold.

Well wasn't the aftermath of the Royal Wedding fun. Had to laugh at the looks on the royals when that American Bishop did his bit. Getting schooled in religion in their own house. Old Phillip looked totally confused. Good PR for the royals though.

Saw that the War Memorial dudes are now wanting a private weapons contractor to advertise in an exhibit. These guys aren't even from this country. Then again privatising our own Defence industries which were previously govt run happened without much scrutiny. Apparently there were efficiencies gained by having tax payers pay more for the same stuff. Somebody got rich and it wasn't the average citizen. War... what is it good for...making money apparently.

The only active thing I've done this week is change a few washers. Finally getting a handle on the latest video game but it just keeps you guessing.

Somebody in the Libs must have pissed off Pauline. The terminator was not impressed. Amazing what the Libs were willing to do to get her vote. Then again he also pissed off Penny telling her she was channelling Pauline. Obviously he wasn't having a good week.

Hope the rest of your week is better.

You know I would LOVE daylight savings in winter! It's dark when I get up anyway... :D

The rain is here! Finally! Hooray!

I'm so glad it's almost the end of the week. I've been lumped with a few extra things at work, and I'm not sure I'm doing a very good job at the moment. Sort of in over my head, but pretending I'm okay with it. Hopefully my bluffing will pay off and I'll actually get a pay rise at some point! It's been about 5 years...not that I should complain, really. I have a job and I'm happy about that.

I hope everyone is well.

Yes I remember those days of leaving for work in the dark and essentially coming home in the dark. Noticed how many people left their car lights on. When my eldest brother purchased a new car he kept complaining about a noise every time he exited the car. I mentioned that it was the car telling him he was an idiot for leaving his lights on. Like me he grew up with the old tech.

I would suggest it's better to say you don't know something than bluff your way thru it, especially if it leads to stuff going wrong. The "I don't recall" defence only works for senior management. I was that dude in the work place that knew who was bluffing and who knew their stuff and I didn't take prisoners. Management is more willing to be more kind when things go wrong if you seek help before an issue arises. After all it's their job to ensure you have the skills and tools to do your job. Just quote the continuous improvement thing at them. If they give you extra jobs then they need to provide the respective tools(training) to do them. If you don't say anything and things go wrong they will blame you rather than take responsibility for giving tasks to people without providing the necessary training.

Afternoon all,

Just dropping by to say that I saw the sun today, if only briefly, still I saw it. Rather chilly out there so not much warmth from the sun that was there.

Saw a bit of that Stargazing thing on the ABC, funny how nobody says Channel 2 anymore. Then again I'm predigital. Sorry but I'm not freezing my arse off to look at some stars and planets. May be see if I can strap a telescope to a possum since they were rather active last night running around on the roof.

Bush fires near Albany and we're chilly here in Melbourne. Crazy weather. Hopefully the rain will put out those fires. Seriously though bush fires in May, WTF is going on with this planet...oh wait that's us...damn humans! Lets go to Mars and fuck up that planet as well. The legacy of human kind. Planet fuckeruperers.

I thinks it's curry time tonight. Even purchased soup tins and I rarely have soup.

Had some sad news in recent times of people passing away. I intend to pass away the same way I was nursed, with a nipple in my mouth, however I need to stipulate that the nipple must belong to a buxom woman of the female species otherwise they might switch in a fat dude, perish the thought.

Hope your weekend goes well.

True, very true. Thank you. Thankfully, I'm not in a management position and the projects I work on are big $$, so there are mandatory processes and reviews we have to do and I've been through all of them before. Just not the one leading it. I know enough to do the job, but there is enough work for 3 people and probably the least experienced in the room by about 10 years (I have 18 years experience). Fortunately I have a very understanding supervisor who is pushing me and I am allowed to delegate work to others if I need to. And I do. And have. September is going to be busy! I will need to take a holiday afterwards!!

And I am sorry to hear you've had a few losses recently.

Hey Pert,

Hopefully you weren't impacted with all that weather that went thru the west. We're now getting it although not that much, even though I'm looking out the window at the dark clouds building up as I type. The people that passed away were a long term family friend and the other was a lovely lady who I was friends with for over 30 years. She was always a happy positive person.

I spent a number of years in management both at the middle and senior levels, not that I actually applied for those jobs, they were just added on as time went on. Although I did give the folks at the brains trust a hard time, mainly cause I didn't conform to their "yes sir" attitude. I also lost out on jobs cause I wasn't a kiss arse. But they can't argue with experience, it's the only way to stay in the game. Even people who don't like you, respect your experience. The BS eventually catches up with people. I've seen that so many times.

As for holidays, well if things keep getting worse job security wise, I think holidays will be a thing of the past just like long service leave is becoming. If there isn't any job security people won't stay long enough to accrue long service leave which will make the employers happy.

Evening all,

At least it looks like it's dark enough outside to be the evening, anyway the lights are on and it's getting chilly. More coffee needed.

Well I've had to get the new jeans ready since the current ones feel very loosey goosey. If it wasn't for a belt they would be around my ankles. Not the look when you're down the shops.

So the Libs reckon the average wage is currently $84,000 and will be $120,000 by 2025...really? So that means pensioners are living below the poverty line? The pension will be raised to 70 by then, and as we have now learned that the retail Super funds are ripping people off in fees and are underperforming compared to industry Super funds which the Libs want to get rid off and sell off to private industry. The same group that are underperforming for their customers and using Super funds to prop up their share price. Are they really serious? Why would you vote for that. "Yes I want to vote for a govt that rips me off and makes my pension worth less". Obviously doesn't apply to the Super funds the pollies use which by the way are in fact industry super funds, so if the LNP is so against industry super funds how come they are using them for their super?

Well Michaelia has told the courts to go screw themselves and Barnaby has now taken leave kinda hinting at mental health issues and our tax dollars are going to pay these folks. I want a refund.

Has been an eventful news day. Roseanne just can't keep her mouth/twitter shut. Given the head of programming at that network is a black female exec, not sure how a racist tweet was going to fly under the radar. Just stupid stuff, especially when you're given a second chance and that everyone else on that show has lost the gig as well. There was similar wording used in emails and tweets when Obama was the president and not all of those were from the US, various groups in Europe have sad similar stuff.

Hope the rest of your week goes well.

Not the nine o'clock news... but God Damn!

I had a great wank today.

Just needed to share somewhere but figured facebook and friends might frown on my admissions.

I've been feeling a bit forgotten and glossed over lately. Everyone including wifey is busy. So busy wife = not busy bedroom. Tired chicky. Not her fault but i have been getting cranky as fuck. Silly man...

Don't usually feel the need to pull out the tissues and cream but thought i needed to take things in hand before i started behaving poorly.

Why the fuck haven't i been doing more of it? Silly fucker.

I watched porn, read porn, flicked through some old home movies we made and kept myself amused for a couple of hours.

Good lord. When that erupted i was reminded why we are supposed to keep the pipes clean. Could have taken someones eyes out with it.

in emoji form...

:mad::confused::cool:;):rolleyes::eek::):):):)

Now my lovely gets home from work and indicates interest... I'm nearly 50 you know.

Stay cool people and don't forget the self love.

Lovely post! I honestly don't know why I don't see more of this here. Very funny, too. Thanks for sharing!

Afternoon all,

Just passing thru catching up on emails. Going for a coffee catch-up with ex-work colleagues on Monday on the way to the dentist after which it will be chocolate time. Handy that the chocolate shop is just across the street from the dentist. Used to be next door to the chocolate shop. Now I have to walk all the way across the street, oh well sacrifices must be made.

Well another house was demolished in my street this week to make way for either another mansion or multiple occupancy. Buggers kept waking me up every morning. There is possibly a local council law about what time they can start demolitions but thus far none of the contractors have abided by them.

Cold morning here in Melbourne town, actually some might say a freezing morning. Not good for car batteries. Even the PC needed a reboot. Apparently going to get colder tomorrow morning, I might have to wear gloves which I never do. Certainly don't miss those cold mornings standing at tram stops where the people were giving off more steam than the coffee.

Hope the weekend is good for you and warmer where you are.

Afternoon all,

I know a dentist who is proud to say he owns shares in Cadbury.

Looking forward to the weekend here too. Will be nice to have everyone home this weekend.

The dachshunds have been driving me fucking nuts this week. Other people can deal with them over the weekend. The little bitch is in heat so she can't be let outside with the other dogs or who knows what kiind of designer mut we'd end up with. So for the last week it's been like living in a porn set.

Here a fuck, there a fuck, every-where a fuck fuck...

And worst part is the little boy sausage dog has taken quite a while to learn exactly where to put his little sausage so the floor has been getting quite a splattering.

Not only am i living on a porn set, i'm the fucking cleaner. I've slipped in it while making coffee, found it on the coffee table... nothing is sacred. I'm certain i'm mentally scarred for life.

I'm also certain that i'm building a bitch box down the back before she comes on again and they can be exiled for the duration. Either that or i need a bigger mop bucket.

Getting cold in the evening now. Off to get some firewood for our nightly campfire. Enjoy your weekend.

Another hilarious day in QLD!

It's not quite the same as horny dogs, but my 5 year old boy has been coming up with a few doozies at the moment. He's been on the bum jokes for quite a while now, but recently he's been talking about "up your bum" or "up my bum" with pretty much everything. Almost like one of the Lit Playground threads. For example, I'll say, "Honey, do you want some more carrots?" and he'll answer, "Carrots up my bum! Yes, please!". And we still have showers together, so there are plenty of other inappropriate things coming out of his mouth. It's so funny, but I'm doing my best to not laugh and talk to him about appropriate behaviour.

But no real news here - other than I'm very pleased we have sunshine for the long weekend.

I hope everyone is well
:rose:

Perth here.
Managed a run on the beach with the blue skies. Warmer in the water than it is on the sand at 7am so have changed to post-coffee timing for winter swims. The naked fisherman is still fishing each morning, I still worry for him with the fish hooks.

I see a Incest/Taboo title in the making...

"Carrots 'up my bum'..."

Hilarious little bloke. where does he get his sense of humour from i wonder.

@Missswannie Naked fishing is the fucking shiznit... I used to camp on the balonne near Surat many years ago, way up from the boat ramp and private enough to spend most of the day as god made me. Warm winter sun and green ginger wine, a fire and some hand lines. Just had to be careful to thread the right worm on the hook. Garden of eden shit that.

My naked activities haven't extended to fishing on that beach, but between his regular presence and the lady who walks her poodle naked every day, there is always something to keep life interesting. Lately the poodle lady's goosebumps look larger than her ladybumps, but the blue sky for the weekend might take a bit of tension out of them.

Hi aussies

Just checking in quickly..... I've been a bit busy of late.
Finally made it under my goal weight (keto is an absolutely bloody BRILLIANT eating plan!), so I am now down to a size 10 from a size 16!
Bonus is less inflammation, which is helping my psoriatic arthritis enormously :)

Back to being a brunette - I get bored easy and end up changing hair colour often! Beats moving the furniture around to change things up, I guess, lol :D

Getting colder down here.... but the upside is now that I've lost the weight, I get to go clothes shopping and buy funky jackets etc..... my wardrobe is looking decidedly UNlike what a typical 50 yr old has!

Stay safe and well everyone....

xx

Hey Rollin,

Yep dentists and surgeons are making the dollars even with private health insurance. The fees get you.

You'll have to have "the talk" with your young boy dog or tie a bag around his bits. Not sure how he got on the coffee table considering they have issues with stairs.

Afternoon all,

Well it's actually raining in Melbourne town. Was out yesterday and could see the clouds building thru the day. It was rather dark by mid afternoon. Had to have the headlights on most of the day. Also this week is uni exams week so lots of unit students clogging up car park spaces at train stations and around the local streets.

After the dentist on Monday I found a bargain on a video game I've played before, Bioshock which has been remastered for new consoles. Got all three games in the one pack and also the DLC's so a good bargain at a sale price. Also spent nearly $50 on chocs, so chocs and video games in the one day. Also medical time so the mid year blood test was another "to do" task. Went to the new modern facility but they don't have the phones connected so the staff have to use their personal phones to do business. Can now get stuck into some not so healthy food for a little while.

Well another week goes by on the road works around the city and the traffic jams are getting worse. They now recognise that peak hour goes for 3hrs due to the ongoing roadworks. Even the roadworks now have roadworks. They'll need to build a tunnel just to get around all the roadworks or start a vehicle ferry service across the bay. I'm not impressed at all with this lack of planning.

Spent most of the morning under the doona playing video games and watching the rain till it was warm enough to do other stuff. The dudes at the vacant lot a couple of doors down were probably not impressed with the soil turning to mud. It's that sandy soil which stick to things when it's dry so like glue when wet.

Hope your weekend goes well.

It’s to bloody cold in Geelong to go outside. I hate wearing to many clothes. At least with the gas heater going flat out warms the house up.
So I can lay back and enjoy reading my favourite stories.

Yep, it's freezing here too!!

WQ - glad you're doing okay! Good to hear!

Happy Friday everyone!!
:rose:

Yeah, it's me.

It's been one of those weeks for me. I can't wait until I'm home for the night so I can actually sit and have a glass of wine and take a breath. The hardest decision I'm going to make tonight is if I open the bottle of red, or the bottle of white. Everything else can wait! I need a rest! :D
