Aussies! Check in here!

Hi Pert :rose:
Yes I am back (occasionally!). Just wanted to say that this year I turn 60  and I'm starting a new job in childcare (5-13 yr olds before and after school). I went back to NZ after Gil passed to be closer to my family. New start, new job...it's scary but exciting at the same time.

Hey Bandit big hugs

Glad to hear that you're are doing well and posting again. Hope things stay positive.

Morning all,

A very busy week, thankfully it's the end of the week and I can get some rest. First time in a while that I had to get up early enough to get thru morning peak hour. Also had the heater serviced so another early morning. Was not impressed with the cost of the service quoted from the manufacturer so went with the company they hired for the last service which was about $20 cheaper. No wonder they were very busy and it took about 3 weeks from booking to service.

Just saw on the news channel that the 000 lines are down and there isn't a back up system. Apparently Telstra didn't tell anyone. The Emergency Services had to contact them when they detected an issue. Now the cops are having to transfer calls. Ah yes private industry in charge of govt services what a winner idea that is!

So another local council found to be corrupt. So what is new! You can tell where the councillors live, their streets are always maintained and traffic signs changed to suit them. Getting kick backs from developers seems to be the norm. Knew a mayor when I was younger who was working in the same office. The guy spent nearly all his time on the phone dealing with council issues rather than doing his job. One of the things he did was to have the street outside his house repaved with bricks not concrete like a normal street. All paid for by rate payers. So councillors ripping off rate payers is nothing knew. There is no transparency in local councils so corruption will continue regardless of location and developers will always get their way to fuck up more neighbourhoods unless major reforms are made.

A rainy day here in Melbourne town after a warmish few days. Kinda weird weather again. Not high temps but warm periods later in the day, then click your fingers and it gets colder again. Coats in mornings, coats off by lunch, coats back on by late afternoon. Not really enough rain to make a difference.

Hope your weekend goes well.

Ipswich near Brisbane seems to have a real problem with its council! Mind you, the stories from all over are pretty shocking...

Long weekend up here. Labour Day on Monday :)

Hey Zach,

Hope things are going well. Yep that Ipswich council should be sacked as it seems there is a fundamental failure in culture and given that a number of locals have come out to state this has been going on for a long time and others are scared to talk about on camera. Funny how the current councillors are defending their positions. As the saying goes... the fish rots from head.

It is a classic example of people getting too much power too quickly and don't have the professionalism to deal with it. Local councils are about people in the community having control of their own neighbourhoods, however greed and power are easy corruptors of people. Organizations are incentivised when they know they are accountable to a higher power. Having a "closed shop" like we do with local councils can only lead to corruption.

Public holidays don't mean much for me these days, unless I need to do something on those days. I see from my desk calendar that it's May Day in the NT on Monday. Not sure what the means, then again isn't it May Day all of May or may be it's a cry for help. :D Labour Day doesn't mean that much these days given that companies are moving more to contracted staff rather than employees so working hours are longer with little or no benefits such as sick leave.

Seems to me that there are too few councillors on each council, makes it very easy for a handful of people to have a lot of power.

May Day is Labour Day... internationally. Keep the red flag flying and all that!
Yes, public holidays are watered down these days... so many not in jobs with ‘standard’ hours. That doesn’t have to mean loss of protections and rights... that’s the result of steady erosion of employee bargaining power. Feel the tide may be turning though, finally.

Don’t work too hard! ;)

Afternoon all,

Ah yes Budget Night. All the accountants around the country will be drooling and putting on some sexy music :D Never anything in these budgets for me. From what I've heard this morning, apparently there is something for Baby Boomers but if that is true, it will be selective. Tax cuts, well that is unlikely to be for me either.

Expensive month this one. Don't you just love it when the larger bills all come at once. Plus the car battery died last week. On the positive side it did last 4 years almost to the date when the last one was replaced. These new batteries don't give you any warning either, they just die suddenly. Everything could be fine the day before then you go out to car the next day and nothing.

Just been out hacking stuff in the garden in the cool temps. Getting colder tonight then rain till next week. Hopefully they are wrong about rain on Mother's Day. Taking my mum to Corio again since she likes the venue I found. Don't particularly like driving in the rain. Last time I went thru that area it was raining as well. One of those Day Jar Vooie thingamebobs. Although last time I nearly got side swiped by a 4WD, hopefully that fuckwit isn't there. Given his driving style he's probably driven off a bridge somewhere.

Isn't that Royal Wedding on later this month? Saw the ad for that special on Camilla. Won't be watching of course. Hopefully she can stay awake for the entire service.

Hope the remainder of the week goes well for you.

Coming into cooler weather so time to start refilling the freezers. I have a cow, and bunch of sheep to murder to feed my little family and my extended mob. I'm good at it and pride myself in doing it kindly. They live a good life, well cared for and such, but still i find myself winding up cause i know it's coming. It's not an easy thing.

It's good though. I cant afford to buy the meat at current prices, but i can afford to raise it on our little block. All the animals except the bloody horses pay for themselves. They get good lives and when the time comes they make a sacrifice and we get good meat.

Doesnt make it easy though no matter how ethical and healthy it is to grow your own without the whore moans and anti-biotics and do the deed yourself.

Put two sheep in the freezer this arvo and am a bit sore and jaded from the effort and the murder respectively. The cow will be a bigger job. I need to buy a sausage stuffer first and complete my gantry.

Getting cool now in the evenings and Mothers day this weekend. Looking forward to the annual fishing/camping weekend. I lucked out with this lady; loves fishing almost more than me. And best of all, now its chilling, i'll get more cuddles. I'm one of those unfortunately hairy and warm people so this is my favourite time of year.

Happy mothers day to all the mums. Hope you are reminded how wonderfully important you are to the rest of us.

Oh yeah! Sexy night! :D I'm actually quite pleased what they've done with the childcare package. I'm not affected by the changes from a financial point of view, but many of my friends are. The upper-double-income friends will lose all the childcare rebate ( which is worth 10k a year per kid), but then my lower income friends ( and I have more of these, because I'm a solo mum!!) will be better off. Mostly, anyway. I think they're means-testing it better.

Wow - I can't imagine the effort it takes to chop up an animal of that size to store! Amazing effort!

And yes, it sounds like you found a keeper. Keep her warm over your camping weekend!!

Perth burn-offs are making for smelly skies, but beautiful sunset/sunrises.

Finally Friday tomorrow. Thank goodness. Unfortunately for me I still can't drink at the moment - another week and I can open my birthday wine!

I hope everyone is well

Hey Pert,

I didn't really listen to either of the budget speeches just the summaries on the respective TV shows. Reckon the Libs will have to change their tax package before the election later this year. I certainly wouldn't trust any govt that says they will give people a tax cut in the future, just trust them. At the moment the Labour option is sounding better for tax. The only part of the budget that will impact me is the tax since I'm still paying tax even though retired.

Afternoon all,

Well as most would of seen, it's wet in the south..and no that's not a sex thing :D

Saw the pics of the flooding in Hobart or rather the rivers running thru it. Reminded me of the flooding in Melbourne several years ago when two massive storms hit the city at the same time. Whilst we have the Yarra River that runs thru Melbourne it's relatively low height wise in comparison to the city. I was thinking of visiting Hobart in Jan for my next birthday since I haven't been there in over 30 yrs.

Had an issue with the gas heater after it was serviced which is kinda the wrong way round. So I wasn't impressed. The tech doing the job didn't seemed to know how to put it back together. The second tech that showed up yesterday knew exactly what the issue was. Simple to fix when you know what you're doing. Was nice and toasty last night given that wintery chill we had in Melbourne yesterday. Got cold by mid afternoon and it's still raining out there. Have to go and collect the bins which probably have some rain water in them.

Good weather for some hearty food. A good curry is just the ticket tonight. I like it on the hotter side and it has to be tasty as well. Purchased a couple of bottles of wine yesterday whilst out shopping so a glass or two of that couldn't hurt either.

Did some research for woollens for my mum and discovered a store here in Melbourne selling possum fur woollens. Thought that NZ was the only place you could get those items. Discovered that on my last trip to NZ. They can cull possums as they consider them a pest. Apparently it's warmer than wool.

Hope all the mothers have a good Mother's Day on Sunday. My usual present for my mum is a big bunch of flowers and a lunch somewhere, which in recent years has been a place near Geelong, which is considered a city. Home to the Geelong Cats footy team.

hi there fellow aussies 😊

Oh a virgin aussie_woman :D

Best way to get involved is just post stuff and the best part is that you don't need to worry about makeup or spending time getting dressed. Unless you're in Melbourne or Tassie at the moment, in which case having clothes on is a survival tactic.

There would be a lot of wet pussies in both of these places at the moment. And the smell of wet dog..I don't think that's a sex thing.

Happy Sunday to all....

I won't say 'Mothers Day' as it's a load of codswallop - if you can't appreciate your mother on any given random day for no reason other than you love her, and instead have to be reminded to show her you appreciate her..... well, just how much does it really mean then?!?
Same as Valentines Day...... invented as a marketing tool by hallmark, and for some reason now everyone feels obligated to take part

Ok, rant over :D

Went out last night for the first time in a long while. Spent 3 1/2 hrs straight on the dancefloor.... and boy! am I paying today! Legs are pretty much dead (tried to go downstairs a while ago and got stuck - my son had to help me back up, lol)
Got home just after 3am..... and was so sweaty that even my shoes were soaked.
It was totally worth it though.... Had a ball, tbh!

Anyway.... was just checking in so ppl don't think I completely disappeared :)

Good to hear, WQ! Not being able to walk the next day definitely makes it sound like you had a fun night! Glad things are on the up for you

And Happy Mother's Day xx

Melbourne, Australia

Hello from another Aussie living near Melbourne.
Love to chat about Incest/Taboo stories, experiences, fantasies and wishes.

- if you can't appreciate your mother on any given random day for no reason other than you love her...

Lost my Mum to cancer a few years ago now and one of my greatest regrets is not having made more time for visiting etc.

My legs aren't working properly today either but i've had nowhere near as much fun. Just a few big days working helping neighbours and around the little hobby farm. Apparently i'm not a strapping lad of 20 any more. Or at least my aching parts are telling me so. The fun bits still think they're 20 but the rest of the package is clearly out of warranty.

Ha! I am so stealing your 'out of warranty' comment!!! lol

Morning all,

Well it seems like we've been in an early Winter since the start of the month. Really noticeable that there is less daylight, getting that late afternoon sun earlier. Even had to use the clear specs to drive home the other day since it was too dark to wear the sunnies.

We now have a space agency, next is to make a list of whom we would like to take the first trip to Mars.

Had a rather lazy week compared to recent months. Was good to just relax for a little while. Found more things I need to fix around the house.

Not really interested in the Royal Wedding, but it seems there won't be much else to watch on TV since all the channels will be showing it. Might have to stick with the video games or one of new DVD's. These days it's cheaper to purchase the DVD than buy a movie ticket.

Hope your weekend goes well.

Yep, that's why I tend to opt for games rather than TV! Thant and commercials drive me crazy.

So happy Friday everyone! The weekend is finally here and it's nice to sit back with a glass of red.

No interest here in The Wedding either. I have Netflix and NZ streaming service Lightbox plus "other means" of watching anything I want. TVNZ OnDemand also has some good stuff.

So I will be happily ignoring The Wedding probably watching a horror movie (or two) :D

I have been craving zombie movies lately. Not sure why...weird...

We had another redundancy at work - quite a senior guy who's probably going to be very well off with the package he got, but still...it's been years of this. And a full reorg is happening again in June.

Other than that, no real news in my corner of Aus.

I hope everyone is having a good week
:rose::kiss:

That reminds me I should get those DVD's of The Walking Dead. Saw them in a catalog at Christmas. Only watched the series that have gone on free to air. I'm sure I've worked with some zombies over the years, most were in management.

Ah yes a reorg, don't miss those days of senior management smashing several boxes together on an org chart for no logical reason apart from them getting a productivity bonus for cutting the staff pay role.

No doubt the financial practice of sacking people just before the FY only to employ them again later in the new FY and claim that as job growth still goes on. We only seem to hear about the jobs created not the ones lost.
