Aussies! Check in here!

What I'm looking for apparently doesn't exist.
Why is it ok for guys to have nsa sex, but not for women?
I really do not want a committed relationship at all! I'm perfectly happy doing my own thing, living by myself, not having to answer to anyone.... but I want sex, dammit! And maybe the occasional conversation.
I do have one fwb, but I only see him twice a year for a few weeks each time.
I need at least one more (or maybe 2... heh ;) ) to satisfy my wants/needs....

I think it's find for girls to have nsa sex...most who are against it are other women.

Keep looking...you're bound to find your harem out there!

Have you got a valid visa for visiting Australia, sir?

For visiting, it wasn't hard. I have a friend who can get me a work visa when civil war breaks out here.

"my local baseball team sucks and we're waiting for gridiron"

- sorry, those sporting words are not allowed on this thread - it's cricket or footie.
Besides gridiron is not real football.

Cricket bores me to tears. I prefer rugby union to gridiron, but make no mistake. Gridiron is real football, especially compared to soccer.

Thanks, If I knew how to do a screen shot I'd show you mine.

Oh boy...this had the potential to go downhill real fast. I admire the restraint on both of your parts. :D

Long day today - up at 6.20 - to catch the fast train to Chengdu, then the metro for 6 stations. Found the Australian Consulate on the 27th floor. Voted. Too easy!
Then, back on the metro, and had to kill time to wait for a 3.15 train back home.
1/2 hr on a local bus, dinner at McDonalds, then a bus home.

Guessing for most of you it's a short stroll down to your local school to vote, right? You don't drive do you???

Yep for most people the local polling booth is relatively close then again most aren't living in a foreign country. I probably should walk down to my local polling place but usually drive just to get it over and done with quicker. Although I have learnt not to go early. Don't feel like standing in a long queue and getting rained on at the same time.

My date went REALLY well, until.....
He began talking about wanting a permanent girlfriend: being all exclusive: wanting more than I stated right from the beginning I was prepared to give
To be honest, I feel a bit deceived..... I told him upfront what I expected, and through several coffee dates, drinkies hookups, etc (has been a few, dinner was not our first) he indicated that was what he was looking for as well.
Then we go out to dinner, things get a little hot and heavy, and the next moment all this "I want more" crap comes out!
*sighs*
How hard is it to find someone who DOESN'T want the house and dog scenario???

Hey WQ:kiss:

Sorry that the date didn't work out as you wanted. Given you mentioned it various times and he still wanted more probably means he either wasn't listening or felt more possessive about the relationship. Didn't like the idea he had to share with others. You probably need a guy who is more secure about his feelings. It's not easy to find the right balance but keep looking given that you have a limited local population to choose from. Not everyone can get thru life without the need for a permanent partner and for others its more about timing.

If you don't like, so b e it. Soccer leaves me cold so...personal preferences. I get the limited support issue, but it's entertaining in the summertime when my local baseball team sucks and we're waiting for gridiron to start.

Cricket bores me to tears. I prefer rugby union to gridiron, but make no mistake. Gridiron is real football, especially compared to soccer.

Yep I'm waiting for the NFL to start as well, prefer that to rugby even if the Aussies are playing. I only watch soccer for the big tournaments country vs country. I'll be watching the Tour de France in a couple of days which is going to take up most of my nights in July.

Now as for cricket that's a sacred sport here in Aussie land. Saying you don't like cricket is close to blasphemy especially since the MCG here in Melbourne is sacred ground. It's also home to Aussie rules football. Cricketers used to play Aussie rules in the off season hence why its a winter sport.

i think rugby leaves a lot of aussies cold at the moment. :D

okay, that's it; that's my gloating moment over. youz hafta allow me a little moment to soak it up, though, eh? after the world cup debacle i'm allowed a smile, aren't i?

...now, how are collingwood doing? that was my team when i was a kid in melbourne.

hmmm, not so good, i see. bugger.

Should I bring up the England soccer team, yep I know don't mention the world cup nor Euro 2016.

The pies are much better in these recent years since Eddie McGuire took over as president but when I was kid they sucked not that they are my team. Nobody chose to be a pies supporter it was usually due to their dad being a supporter.

Evening all,

Well what a windy wet day here in Melbourne town. Luckily went out yesterday to do stuff and it was rather warm in the sun what a contrast in days.

Have been playing with that silly tablet I was given late last year. Finally decided to use the storage card only to discover it was damaged right out of the packet. Thought I was doing something wrong, also those micro cards are so damn small.

Went to download a new DLC for a game I have and it took so damn long. Given all this content is huge our slow internet download speeds really suck. Waiting 6hrs to download the complete content is just crap. Which is why I still like discs.

Only two sleeps till the big vote and the possibility of a plebiscite that means nothing cause it's not binding kinda like the Out campaign for the Brexit realizing they don't have a plan after they won.

And school holidays are nearly here again although I think a few schools went early, saw lots of kids out and about yesterday.

,,,

Yeah, I say ban that dude from this thread!

...

Cricketers used to play Aussie rules in the off season hence why its a winter sport.

That's right, I forgot that. Even at school we played footie in winter and cricket in the summer.
Now they are all year round for international players right?

I wish I had a cricket bat here in China to teach my students. And a Kookaburra ball. I guess I could make a rough one like we used to do as kids - out of a fence paling.:D

it's football, not soccer. :p

and as for aussie rules, you're confusing the mighty 'pies with richmond.

...or essendon. :D

I'm a Queenslander so I can be forgiven for not being as religious towards AFL teams, but even so, I know that the Tigers are Richmond. And Collingwood are Magpies. Essendon - the Dons - are the Bombers.

as for football/soccer, the name of the game was a source of contention in Queensland (maybe other states too). Used interchangeably, until it was decided to allow both terms. Hence we have the FFA (Football Federation Australia) and Soccer (Socceroos).

it was us poms who coined the term 'soccer'. i just enjoy winding people up. :D

I think it took off in my hometown cos most of the players who introduced 'soccer' there were Italians. (many Italian farmers around my hometown). I guess with their accent, they found it easier to say 'soccer/socca' than footaball.

btw, their clubhouse was a great social place (rock bands/dances/ etc then poker machines) was called Across the Waves Soccer Club. Probably because of the luscious women who went there, we Aussies called it Across the Wives. :D

it was the same in melbourne in the 70s. i remember preston macedonia playing on sunday{?} afternoons. it was mental when they played south melbourne hellas! :D

Election day is done and dusted.
I worked in a polling place in inner Melbourne. Turnout was massive, our venue was more than 50% up on the AEC's estimate!

Why do people bring their dogs into polling centers? Mind you, I think issuing votes to dogs may be a better way to go

On a happier note, our polling centre had the best be sausage sizzle and cake stall I've ever seen. Great snags in decent bread. Hats off to those Mums, they can run an event.

Yep the length of the footy season means you have to pick one or the other, cricketers used to play footy to keep fit during the off season and was originally started for that purpose. Now that the AFL goes into Oct it dominates the year.

You might try to get a set of gear from Cricket Australia as a donation, couldn't hurt to ask. They probably played cricket in Hong Kong when the British were in charge. AFL has now spread to lots of countries that you wouldn't think of.

It should be called 'theatre ball' considering all the acting that goes on in soccer. Like children who cry just to get attention. I'm surprised they don't give out awards for who is the better actor for playing injured. Lots of 'raising from the dead' goes on.

The mighty pie warmers could never be confused with any other team after all it wasn't that long ago they were called the colliewobbles cause they folded under pressure.

Afternoon all,

Well wasn't the election coverage fun mainly cause we still don't know who won. Decided to leave it as late as possible to vote to avoid the crowds I saw on TV earlier in the day, but I still ended up in a line at 3:30pm and it even got longer after I arrived.

If we are going to have so many parties for the Senate they need to get rid of the bottom portion of the long toilet roll. They weren't even in alphabetical order thanks to that bingo process, took so damn long to find the parties you wanted to vote for. Frankly after numbering the sixth party in the Senate I was over it.

The Libs have shot themselves in the foot twice. The Abbott supporters screwed this up for the Libs and Labour is like the cat that swallowed the cream, smiling ear to ear. It will be anything but boring over the next three years. Labour looks set to win the next one and we have Pauline back in politics...fish and chips for everyone unless you're an immigrant or refugee.

Afternoon all,

Well wasn't the election coverage fun mainly cause we still don't know who won.

I followed the election on ABC News on the net, checking every so often.
When I saw Antony Green say it was not possible to get a result early, I figured I'd give up on any more last night.
Damn it was close! Hope it doesn't result in having to vote again. I don't really want to have to go to Chengdu and waste a whole day again.

I noticed even though 6 pm came, some of the polling places let voters still in queues come in and vote. I've never heard of such long queues to vote as in this election.

I avoided all that potential confusion and took in my own How To Vote to the Australian Consulate. Even then, I hadn't settled on the complete 6 for the Senate (above the line) so I think I voted for groups like the Sex Party (rather than give my vote to any conservatives or far right monster parties like Pauline or Derryn) and the Conservation party.

The Libs have shot themselves in the foot twice.

They need to aim much higher in future, get it right on the third try - :D

The Abbott supporters screwed this up for the Libs

...yep, but Tony the Wrecker will not admit it.

Absolutely! Shorten has much better leadership qualities than Malcolm's mob. He has really come into his own since his early days as leader.

and we have Pauline back in politics...fish and chips for everyone unless you're an immigrant or refugee.

Incredible! but hardly surprising

Democracy Sausages I hear they've been labelled.

And my mouth was fairly watering at the pics.
Wish Chengdu had had a sausage sizzle!:(

Aussie Rules is fun to watch, there's some real athleticism. Soccer? Like you, I'll watch the world cup, but I'll wait til the knockout rounds.

Did not realize gridiron is so popular over until this past year. A teammate's son went over to play, and a guy who used to play for me is over there now coaching.

OK, no more cricket cracks. I promise. :D

As for elections, we have our own shitshow to worry about, but I'm leaning towards Trump just for the entertainment factor. Might as well get a few laughs out of it.
