Aussies! Check in here!

Long day today - up at 6.20 - to catch the fast train to Chengdu, then the metro for 6 stations. Found the Australian Consulate on the 27th floor. Voted. Too easy!
Then, back on the metro, and had to kill time to wait for a 3.15 train back home.
1/2 hr on a local bus, dinner at McDonalds, then a bus home.

Guessing for most of you it's a short stroll down to your local school to vote, right? You don't drive do you???

Yes, a short stroll to the nearby school.

On the flip side, we have to run the gauntlet of the phalanx of touters handing out how-to-vote cards for each major and party. Guess there weren't any of those waiting to greet you!

um no! It was all very civilised. Waited my turn in the outer office, then when my name was called I went in, sat down, filled out the sealed envelope, given the papers. I had to give the woman my electorate name, so I got the right one with the right candidates.

Given a pencil then off to one of two voting booths.

The senate paper was l-o-n-g, but I remember longer ones in the past. But I'd practiced online beforehand, so knew how to fill it out. Same with the candidates for my electorate, took a paper in with the order I wanted.

I've done my share of doing the handouts for my party in the past, in Australia.

Several other Aussies were also there at the time.

Frankly rugby leaves me cold and rather bored. Have tried over the years to watch it with friends from Sydney but just can't get interested. However I liked the Sevens when I saw it on TV at I think the Comm Games. Given State of Origin only involves two states in the country its kinda reached its limits as to a supporter base.

If you don't like, so b e it. Soccer leaves me cold so...personal preferences. I get the limited support issue, but it's entertaining in the summertime when my local baseball team sucks and we're waiting for gridiron to start.

Mark Forums Read ....... Open Buddy List ...... Log Out

That's ^^^what's on the right side of my Lit window. No 'Quick Links'.

No idea then, sorry.

Have you got a valid visa for visiting Australia, sir?

"my local baseball team sucks and we're waiting for gridiron"

- sorry, those sporting words are not allowed on this thread - it's cricket or footie.
Besides gridiron is not real football.

Hey WQ,

Sounds like you're into this guy which is good. As for the outfit for the night well from a guys perspective something that shows off your assets but not too revealing. A tease is always good. Given the weather, may be a nice figure hugging jumper and boots and a scarf you don't mind losing. Gives him a reason to contact you sooner if you like him. If it doesn't work out take the scarf back home after the date.

What ever happens good luck and I hope it works out

My date went REALLY well, until.....
He began talking about wanting a permanent girlfriend: being all exclusive: wanting more than I stated right from the beginning I was prepared to give
To be honest, I feel a bit deceived..... I told him upfront what I expected, and through several coffee dates, drinkies hookups, etc (has been a few, dinner was not our first) he indicated that was what he was looking for as well.
Then we go out to dinner, things get a little hot and heavy, and the next moment all this "I want more" crap comes out!
*sighs*
How hard is it to find someone who DOESN'T want the house and dog scenario???

i think rugby leaves a lot of aussies cold at the moment. :D

okay, that's it; that's my gloating moment over. youz hafta allow me a little moment to soak it up, though, eh? after the world cup debacle i'm allowed a smile, aren't i?

...now, how are collingwood doing? that was my team when i was a kid in melbourne.

hmmm, not so good, i see. bugger.

ok that just greyed out my screen for a second..Windows 10 requires a 'snipping tool'. Got it and did it.

See attached. (something else I think I did successfully today).

yeah, it greys out and the image appears in the Pictures folder.

hmmm. how odd, similar view but no QL.

yeah, so Users CP and New Posts are the only ones I regularly use.
Open Buddy List is accessible, unlike yours.

I did look in my Pictures folder but couldn't find it there. I did learn how to take a screen shot from a google search - Do a search for Snipping Tool from the PCs search function, select the top one, it opens into a tiny floating window, select 'new' and it greys out the screen, you then select (drag cursor around) what you want to capture, a new full screen window opens up with the image, select File _ Save as. I saved it to the desktop.

sounds a tad complex.

yes it was. Also, the tool was hidden under the main window and inaccessible when I wanted to use it; I wanted a full screen shot not the one I attached.
I just had a look again in Pictures and I see a folder - Screenshots. And there they are, 2 full screen shots. I know I will use Windows + prt sc in future. Too easy.

Hey WQ, sorry your date didnt end as you hoped.

I have a friend, 35, cute, short and attractive. A kindergarten teacher. She has the opposite problem, the blokes she dates just want sex and no commitment. She says, just sex would be ok but they all seem to have baggage or they're married. I suppose its the age bracket, 35 is too young for the divorcees but too old for the good ones. She also bitches that eHarmony costs her $60 a month!!!!

What I'm looking for apparently doesn't exist.
Why is it ok for guys to have nsa sex, but not for women?
I really do not want a committed relationship at all! I'm perfectly happy doing my own thing, living by myself, not having to answer to anyone.... but I want sex, dammit! And maybe the occasional conversation.
I do have one fwb, but I only see him twice a year for a few weeks each time.
I need at least one more (or maybe 2... heh ;) ) to satisfy my wants/needs....
