Aussies! Check in here!

Just dropping in on my way through my Favs list on the PC.

BANDIT:heart: has given up on hair colouring & is going natural & still turns me on although I did scare the crap out of her with a massive blood sugar drop:eek:

I went to bed with a blood sugar of 15. something which is high so thought at 5.30am & getting up at 8am so though some quick acting insulin was the go but ended up haveing a major hypo (extremely low blood sugar) & ambos were called because BANDIT:heart: couldn't get me to respond, eat sugary lollies or drink juice.

Ambo put in a drip line in my right arm & started a sugar solution which saw me slowly come back. The only clue I had at first was BANDIT's:heart: voice, a male voice & a female voice then opened my eyes & saw the drip hanging, the 2 ambos & oxygen mask on me, it took a fair bit of thime to come around but eventulaay returned, with me & the bed totally soaked in sweat & feeling very cold.

Ambos asked if i wantd to go to the hospital & I said no as all they do is keep me for hours doing blood teasts then tell me I had a hypo & send me home.

I had some breakfast & shower & all was well again.

Being a diabetic for 40 years has been a wild ride & still having problems controlling it, every time I think I/we have got a handle on it it bites me in the butt again with a suprise event like yesterday, every emotion changes blood surar levels some times higher & other times lower, it's a catch 22 disease.

I'm so thankful to my wonderful loving BANDIT:heart:

Hey Gil,

Not good to hear about the incident but good to hear things are back to normal...what ever that is these days. Big  for Bandit she is really someone special.

I am in HELL.
Children, aged 1 to 5,.are running wild through this house.
Help me!!!!

Sounds like the family Christmas lunch I attend each year, although now its the next generation doing all the running around. So WQ better you than me, at least you can give them back at the end of the day. I usually fill them up with sugar and give them back to their respective parents....yes I know I'm just evil.

*knock knock*
*peeks head in door*

can I come in?

another long hiatus... (2010.... 06/07) yet my fingers brought me wandering back in here tonight

I hope all is well...

a bit chilly here in adelaide (though not quite as bad as some other places)

WQ I hope the kids tired themselves out!

Hey Gem,

No need to be so formal, of course you can come in or cum in...given where you are that is :D

I don't understand people who say they love travel. Even my irregular trips back to NZ are a hassle with having to wait at Auckland Airport for hours for a small domestic flight to take me to Hamilton. Then there are the delays...the last one was for having to replace a wheel for the flight back to Sydney. I was hoping they'd put it on properly when we came in to land it was a bit bumpy!

Hey Bandit

Travel means putting up with the connections to get to your respective destinations. I don't think anyone really loves to sit in a commercial plane its just a means to an end. I love to travel even with its hassles the trick is not to get stressed about what may happen. I had a flight delayed back from the USA one time...I just went to the nearest bar and found they were having half price drinks since it was still early in the day. Another time I caught a flight to NZ and asked for a Scotch and Coke...the flight attendant came back with a full glass of Scotch and a can of coke...had to drink some of the Scotch to get the Coke in the glass...

Good to see you posting a few. Don't forget to have fun:rose:

Evening all,

Sad news about Robin Williams and now Lauren Bacall. Different circumstances obviously but two great and unique talents.

Seems I left Sydney just before the rain and cooler weather arrived. May do more of those short trips around the place depending on the dollars. Amazingly I was able to use the frequent flyer points on the flights of my choosing. Things have changed.

Hope everyone has a easy remainder of the week..

Well the end of the week and all of a sudden you can tell Winter is slowly leaving. More light in the late of the afternoon. Soon there will be people mowing the lawn after work. At least the rain is waiting till the end of the weekend.

Hope all have a good weekend.

Don't get me wrong, i love travelling, even sometimes for work - seeing new places, meeting new people, internationally eating new foods.
Its just the getting there and back, dirty airports, hours of late flights and the crowded pointy-fronted-bus that is getting less exciting.

In this case, being able to share Lunch with a Lovely Litster :rose: (hmmm - new thread title?) made up for all the inconveniences getting there!

Hey Gem (((hugsssssssss)))

Hope you are well.

Seems like it has warmed up in Adelaide, judging by your AV ;)

You did well to come back from 10 down......next time hey :)

I'm not quite sure it is warm enough yet
definitely sunny here in Adelaide today, but not quite warm.

meant to be 22 next week though!

Stuff the weather, lets talk politics.
Feds can't tell their metadata from a hole in their head,
NSW needed to find something else to beat QLD at, so they chose brown-paper-bag corruption as the special topic
WA still has more aston martins, ferraris and lambos per capita than any other state
The ACT is saying "who?" and trying to hide in case the Chinese miss Clive (not much chance of that)...

Discuss

Lit really needs a "like" button. :D

Someone on Facebook was asking if Australia is ready for a little civil disobedience. I can name at least 6 Federal pollies that I really, really want to throw rotten tomatos at.

civil? I'll go with rude disobedience. Although this mob will probably put all the rioters in a yellow boat, redefine us as illegals, igore the passports and ship us to Manus.

There needs to be a federal version of ICAC.

This country would be so much better with a revolution and the Lit community in charge !

When Abbott brought down his Fed budget, I saw that former Prime Minister Gillard tweeted "Miss me yet?"
Now.... I know she was greatly disliked, but..... have to wonder how many people who voted for Abbott are feeling just a teensy bit disappointed?

Sadly(?), I don't qualify for a vote. So I get to sit on the sidelines observing with a wry smile whilst I pay my taxes...

I'm sure you must be loving some of the crap they're spending your taxes on! Reading something recently, its going to cost the doctors practices more to collect the friggin copayment, account for it and pass it on than the total amount of the copayments.
Where is the sense in that!
