ATTENTION! Serious problem here on Lit, please read.

There is apparently a problem with several people on Lit having their identities ripped off, eg someone using a username very similar, ripping off the same AV, and using the same sig ect.

I consider it a serious issue, and the link below goes to the thread in the "How To" forum where I learned of the problem. I encourage all who are concerned to read that, at the very least.

Did you even read through the above linked thread? The entire problem lies in that some people nearly PM'd the "fake" version of someone. What if that message had contained personal info, like say an address or a phone number? Identity theft isn't a joke. That's the problem here.

Darllin, I saw the fakes. They are easy enough to fake. If you are sending personal info over the net without a clear understanding of where it is going you are acting foolishly. In this place that is especially so. Have you looked at the things people write about here? I would guess there are a few people lurking about here who you would not want in your real life. If you insist on viewing this place as being more than it is then you take your chances. Don't do the drama queen shit about ohhh look what they are doing to our pristine little playground. Its bullshit. Lit is a good place to come to vent, to blow off some sexual fuel but it sure as hell is not a sunday come to meeting kind of place. IT IS A PORN BOARD. Do we need any more warning than that. NEVER GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ANYONE WHO COULD USE IT AGAINST YOU. This is just fucking dumb.

edit: Nevertheless alltherage, the fact remains that some people DO send out personal info... and theft identity is illegal, or near enough.. I dont know much about the subject but when push comes to shove..
