ATTENTION: Important issue for all Anthologiers

Ok then *LOL*

Right, well i don't like the green -too snotty.

the black background looks a bit, I dunno, dated?

I don't like the picture to the side, it looks like it's being pushed off the page...

I'd prefer things to be more central, title etc, but maybe that's just me :)

I like the font on the coming together title, very nice. I like the quote of the day idea, very good, gives a person a taste straight away.

erm....yeah that's it for now *L*

The only issue I have is giving links to our member pages (About Us). Will folks still buy if they know it can all be had for free?

A very valid point.

Instead of links to our member pages, what if it's just our email addys?

Earl, EL, Imp- you're all fabulous.

How about this as a preliminary design prototype?

Title font -- if it's to match the book -- is called Kabel, and the top title should match the domain name.

I will purchase the domain later today. Which are we going with? Erotic Anthology or Coming Together? (I did create an AOL screen name: Erotic Anthology -- to serve as the contact e-mail address.)

EL -- tell your hubby that Domain Avenue comes with 35Mb of server space -- and unlimited masked e-mail addresses (i.e., we can EACH have an address like "impressive@EroticAnthology.com" that will auto forward to our actual address ... and each of those can be added to the Biographies section of the series). They have a free, downloadable FTP tool which I've found quite easy to use. I'd prefer to have the pages hosted on the DomainAvenue site -- so that (heaven forbid) something puts your server out of commission, another of us can pick up the ball.

I think it's time we "elected" a steering committee, perhaps.

I have no webpage experience, but I have lots of time (at least right now), so someone can put me to use if need be.

Will you please develop a list of web sites, Yahoo!Groups, etc. dealing with free speech and/or erotica which may be receptive to giving us a link or a mention in a newsletter?

Might start with erotica-readers.com and go from there.

Thanks!

I'm on it. I already know of one possibility.

An alternative design, taking into account EL's requests. I would like responses from all on what can be done better and whayt you think needs changing.

Imp: I don't have that font - to be honest, my title is just placeholding atm. I thought that the proper Anthology font and stuff could go in there when we do the real thing. I think the consensus was for eroticanthology.com.

At the risk of sounding presumptuous, I'd say that a three person committee of Imp as chair, myself as publicity and EL as website personage would work, as they appear to be the roles into which we've all fallen over the course of this thread.

I like the layout. Nit picks:

In the links toolbar, "Home page" is typically two words -- or just use "Home"

"The books" should probably read "Publications" or "Anthologies" (I prefer the former)

And I'd change "Buy it" to just "Buy" or "Order"

Thanks for running with this!

Well, I don't mind helping out at all but I have no real knowledge in the website type things, I just know what I like the look of *chuckles*

Earl, you're doing well, still not sure on the colour, maybe we need to echo those in the book cover? so maybe with a silver colour dominating and a hint of red and black?

I'm not sure about having things blocked in either, is that just to give an idea of where text will go? 'cos if so, cool. Otherwise, loose the boxes *L*
Still loving the quote, especially as it shows smaller, nice little snippet to get folks attention-very nice :)

Well found on the Amazon link.

On the website colour scheme - we either need a warm background with no bright emphasis (the red with white text and purple flashes), or a dark background with a bright colour for emphasis (the black with the bright green flashes).

My personal favourite would be to have the black background (as black is the dominant colour of the book cover) and the green flashes, but with the layout more like the second one. Anyone else have an opinion before I draw up another prototype? If not, then I'll make a full prototype, showing what all the pages should look like.

I can live with the black -but I really don't like the snot green *LOL*

Hot pink?

A neon blue could work.

<off to create>

Will be keeping an eye on this thread, so keep sending suggestions.

I love how this is picking up steam...go to sleep for a few hours and TheEarl and EL are off to the races!

I'll send off an email to Gwen's personal account thanking her on our behalf if Imp has not done so already...or maybe I will anyway, just because I have not emailed her in a couple weeks...

I did thank her. (She was tickled that I added her website address to the Foreword. It wasn't her idea, but mine.)

Right, will be away from now on due to RL intervening (yes, I do actually have one!), but I expect to come back to hear lots and lots of comments on what needs doing and what you like and what you don't like. I'm making these prototypes so that we can all have a say in what our website is like and I do expect input from people aside from Imp and EL.

See you later.

Website-

will we be able to use some illustrations on the site? Possibly some that aren't in the books? For me, when I go to a site, I want it to catch my attention. If it doesn't, I'll just look somewhere else.

I love the idea of the authors getting blurbs/bios and thumbnail pics. When the site goes up, it would probably be good to have all the already vetted authors listed, with a note in their bio which Vol they'll be in. We'll want people to know that there are more volumes to come, and use the site to add interest not just for Vol 1, but for the other volumes that aren't even ready yet.

If we do, then the main home page should probably be one of those portal pages: If you are a minor ...
