Attack at Jewish Center

I am a Christian. I have read the Bible in eight English translations, including The Jewish Study Bible. What don't Christians understand about the Torah?

Numbers 15:32-37 says that those who work on the Sabbath should be stoned to death. What do you think of that?
Torah rules don't apply to non-Jews. Work on the Sabbath all you want. Eat bacon cheeseburgers for every meal. You don't have to follow our rules.

As a Jew so I say "no". Christianity and Islam are both fanfic religions that borrow concepts from the Torah without understanding them.
I grew up Methodist. Went to Sunday School. I abandoned religion at 14 because I really didn't believe. Only after recently watching "The Chosen" did I really understand Jesus. If a protestant church started today following the teachings of Jesus in "The Chosen", I would attend every Sunday. That Jesus comes straight from the Gospels. A Jesus who loved the outcasts of society. Why are his followers today so full of hate and intolerance?

Maybe because Christians insist on seeing Judaism as failed Christianity instead of a totally different religion that doesn't give a damn about Jesus. Jews don't reject Jesus. We just think he's boring. Muslims are the same as Christians. It's maddening to them that they have this whole fantastical edifice built around Mohammed's life, and Jews are just like "meh, so what?"

Judaism is the most intolerant. The Old Testament is all about a judgemental and vengeful God.

Fuck that shit. I'll take a tolerant and understanding Jesus over all these vengeful intolerant fucks.

The Torah is not the Old Testament. Judaism only seems intolerant to Christians because you’re only taught the weird spin that that your church gives to the Torah.

Everyone including Christians pick and chooses the commandments they keep.
How many people outside of the Jewish orthodoxy actually keep the sabbath holy and honor their parents?

The OT god is a different god, it’s a good who has contracts with their people, the nt god is a paternalistic god to whom can turn over their problems.

The wars will end when the Arabs give up their genocidal dream of wiping out Israel.
Unfortunately, the Israeli leadership has exactly the same genocidal dream of ethnically cleansing and wiping out the Palestinians. There is no justification for optimism. Hamas and Netanyahu, two sides of the same coin. The idea of a two state solution is absurd. The only future which has any likelihood is a continuation of violence, and the irony of that is that for any one side to claim any sort of military/political victory, they would only be simultaneously announcing their own moral bankruptcy.

Much of my later service life was spent in this region and my late wife's family argued the pros and cons endlessly. Unfortunately the situation has steadily worsened in the 50+ years since.
