In the month since the Supreme Court struck down the pre-clearance formula of the Voting Rights Act, Texas, Florida and North Carolina are working on rules designed to make it harder to vote. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who wrote the dissent in Shelby County v. Holder, is not surprised. "I didn't want to be right, but sadly I am," she told the Associated Press' Mark Sherman.

First LOL!

Second i dare say the silly fuckers have never voted in Texas!

Sometimes I fail because I forget or am unable to vote early and can not find out where I am supposed to vote during a certain election.

These people change polling places by apparently throwing darts at a city map.

Third.

If you are old enough to vote you are already required to have ID on you at all times in public.

So... go cry about something else.

It's not getting me down as much as I realized that all the elections are between a GOP hack douche and a DNC hack turd sammich...

What's the fucking point?

By voting they at least know some people still care.

Unless you want large money and big corporations having all the influence...

lol it's a wwf show man...there is no real fight.

Unless you want large money and big corporations having all the influence...

Considering the billion dollar campaigns and who's funding them, what makes you think they don't?

They get to pick the candidates we chose from....why do you think despite all his lefty ohh rah on the trail Obama wound up being a 3rd and 4th Bush presidency.

There is no point, we the people have totally lost control and are just along for the ride.

I remember the first time I went to vote, the 1988 election. I had sent away for a mail in ballot because I thought I might be on vacation. Then I didn't send it back in time, so I went down to the polling place. Not only did I have to give ID, the old lady working there gave me hell accusing me of trying to vote twice. She was even threatening to call the authorities. I finally convinced her I had not in fact sent the mail ballot in after several minutes of this.

At the time it was annoying, but I realize she was just a consciencious and concerned volunteer who actually took the electoral process seriously. She has no doubt gone to her maker and the country has no doubt gone down the drain since then.

You're not required to carry ID on you.

If she gave you hell, it's because she obviously realized what a piece of shit you are. I've never seen a poll worker threaten a voter, in any way.

I'm thinking your story is total bullshit, just like everything else you've ever posted.

How often does the fossil Ginsbug based her decisions on the law rather than ideology?

No ones voting rights are being restricted you just have to provide an ID very reasonable in today's world. You can't really function without a picture ID.

This is what they're counting on, yannow.

"Didn't send it back in time?" I thought it only had to be in the mail prior to election day. We went through this with Florida 2000.

I'm surprised you were allowed to vote in person, since I'm not sure how anyone would have known that you did not in fact vote twice.

Huh?

Oh no, we wouldn't want that to happen!

Texas is run by people who disagree with me on everything, and there's no prospect of that changing in the next several election cycles; so I'm not going to get all pious on the subject of the importance of voting, except to say that governments certainly shouldn't go out of their way to make it harder on people.

It doesn't matter.

Whining is a Democrat racket; pissing and moaning is what they do for every occasion. I'm recalling Walt & Wendy Whiner of SNL who complain about winning a free vacation to New York City, WE WANTED TO GO TO CLEVELAND!

Jaw-dropping lack of self-awareness.

still under the impression that a state issued ID is too hard.....

this is the perfect example as to the downfall of America - obama and stupid fucks that believe in showing ID is too much of a hardship.

Do you believe in forcing US citizens to have ID?

Think carefully, dude.

Proper ID is essential to an orderly society.

Ask your Grandparents how proud they were to get their forearms tattooed with an identification number back in the day.

How'd that work out for Bubbe and Zeyde by the way?
