As if there weren't enough injuries/sickness in this house....

I don't dine with lying racists.

Yeah,.well, it was a long shot.
No way would you ever come anyway, because going back and telling people that my life is exactly what I say it is would be too humiliating.
Being as how your own life is perfect and shit .

How's your kid with fake cancer? You planning a fake death or fake miraculous recovery?

Actually, I am.driving him down to the hospital today for a Tilt-table heart test. He's developed a problem with fainting since the treatments began.
But thanks for asking.

Btw - how's your pregnant, unemployed daughter?

Warrior Queen, it's true that people usually troll you no matter what because they think you're a lying racist attention whore. But in this case, they're not trolling because it's you. They're trolling because any idiot who gets on a tin roof in a windy rainstorm deserves anything that happens to him, and anyone who defends him is too stupid for to have sympathy for, except in the way one feels sympathy for the severely disabled.

You're a 'call the guy' kinda guy, aren't you?!
Aaaahhhh.... sometimes I think it would be nice to live closer to town and have that option...
The only reason he fell off is because he's home from work, else I would have been the one who had to go up there.

On another note - it's been raining for 3 days now, and the remaining sheep have decided it's time to lamb :( We'll likely lose 1/4 or so :(

Thanks, but I think people understood what I meant by severely disabled, even without the example.

Lol - no way would a disabled person cope with living here!
But you go ahead and believe what you want :)

My guess is, you ans pretty much everyone else who's replied live in nice comfortable inner city or suburban places.
I've lived all sorts of places.

Where you can get a maintainence man within an hour or two.
*smirk* - not even in the densest urban area does that happen.

Last time we had an issue that we couldn't deal with it took 3 weeks for the repair guy to come.
Well, I'm sure that's not because you live in a remote area. I mean, the guy wasn't traveling 3 weeks to get there, right?

Living where we do, we almost alwaya have to deal with anything that comes up ourselves.
There is no 'pick up the phone and call the guy' option.
That's not because of where you live, it's called "abysmally shitty service" and comes from living in an underdeveloped country like Somalia or Australia.

It hasn't stopped raining yet.
Waiting it out would have resulted in no phone, a damaged roof, and possible water damage inside.
Not am option.
What kind of roof gets punctured when a satellite dish falls over on it?

Maybe you need a real roof.

You seem to apply American experience to everything. the whole world does not work the way America does.
The reason it takes so long to get most types of maintainence people oit here, is because we're rural enough to be classed as a 'designated day' area by most companies (meaning they only travel this far out on a couple of days a month).

If say, my fridge broke down, it would be a LOT faster for us load it in the trailer and take it into town than to wait for an electrician.
That's just the way things are out here.

Hell, we don't even get a regular power meter reading! The guy comes just twice a year - for the rest, we get estimated bills based on prior use, and then they're adjusted when he does come out.

The support leg thingies on two sides snapped in the wind, so they were bashing sharp broken edges on the roof.
We now have no landline at the house (or service net - we're using a cellphone as a wifi atm) and the phone co informs me it will be sometime within the next 21 days before a service agent comes to my area.
